Tairen Soul by CL Wilson

Has anyone read Tairen Soul by CL Wilson? I love, love, love this series...it's FANTASTIC! The characters are wonderful and the highly original storyline completely pulled me in. Elly's growth across the series was great and Rain as the leading man--yum!

I am so anxious for the 5th (and final) book to come out this year. Has anyone heard when it's coming out? The last I read, the author was turning her draft into the publisher by early Feb so hopefully it will be soon.

I love this series! I agree, very original and Rain is definitely yum. At first I was a little unsure about reading the first one. I mean, flying cats? But the story and characters are great.

Wilson still has "coming soon" instead of a date for the final book on her website. I am really looking forward to reading it!

I love this series, too! Ellie is an awesome character and I love Gaelen and Bel, too. I definitely can't wait for the last book! There are so many things she still has to wrap up.

i just noticed today that the book originally called Tairen Soul has been changed to Crown of Crystal Flame. idk if this is still Tairen Soul or not. anyone know anything about this?

Her website still calls it 'Tairen Soul' but it might be out of date?

I love the series. The first two books were the best. I am hoping that the final book will be as good as the first. Ellie is a great heroine!

Love the series. I think that CL Wilson is a very gifted descriptive writer. I love Rain and Elly. I can't wait to find out what happens and to make sure some of my favorite characters are alive ... sniff sniff

I didn't even know there was a 5th book in the series, but I have yet to finish the third. I agree: CL Wilson is awesome! This is a little off topic, but does anybody know of similar books?

The new title for Tairen Soul is Crown of crystal Flame. C.L Wilson said that her contract for these books was sold to a new publisher and they changed the name. She thought it was funny because the original two books were supposed to be one book and named Tairen Soul but her first publisher changed it because they thought no one would know what a tarien soul was and that is the exact reason for the new publisher wanting to change the name of the 5th book. The release is scheduled for Oct. 26, 2010.

In the middle of her second book. I am hooked. I absolutely LOVE IT! Not loving the dorky book covers though. The series was recommended to me which I am glad bc I would of never of read it with such a cheesy book cover.

I just noticed the title change on her website today. I wonder why she doesn't have a release date for the book on her website when Amazon has it listed for October 2010? Weird. (Oh, never mind, I just saw the reason on her blog. LOL.)

BUT, OMG, I didn't realize she had books in the works for Bel and Gaelen. They're my favorites! I can't wait!

Read the first book as a Pick-It-For-Me Challenge recommendation and I loved it. Just started the 2nd book today, and so far it is going well.

When I started it I was a little confused - it began feeling like a YA, and then kind of combusted into a PNR, but thankfully they seem to be getting better & better. There's not enough adult fantasy around with a great plot and romance nowadays, and CL Wilson does it perfectly (:
I was a little annoyed when I found out there are going to be three more books than the expected four; it can get annoying when authors drag out things just for the sake of it. However, there's still a lot of questions to be answered in this series, so hopefully with the right pacing they'll fly by...

I think the main series is going to be the five books, with the final one in October. The ones about Bel, Galen, etc. will be spin off stories, kind of like what Jeaniene Frost is doing with the Night Huntress world or Nalini Singh is talking about doing the Guild Hunter spin off featuring the Seven.

I am praying she wraps this up with five and goes on to Galen and Bel. I am also hoping that the Queen (I forget her name) dies a long painful death in the upcoming book. She is more annoying than the blood mages.

Does anyone else get the feeling like Kieran and Kiel are going to truemate the twins? Obviously the girls would have to reach adulthood before anything could be consumated, but I find it odd that those two girls have such deep bonds with their guardians.

I'd love to see both Bel and Gaelen find love, especially Bel. He's probably my favorite character.

Yes, Stacia! I was wondering about the twins true-mating with Kieran and Kiel. I know it would be a while, until they are grown. But, wouldn't it be something if K&K went off for a few years and then returned to find the girls all grown up and they would have to get to know each other again. I think it would be sweet and interesting.

Looking forward to more about Bel and Gaelen, also.

It's probably sad that I want to see them all truemate with someone. Since they can't seem to find anyone among the Fey, the warriors need to start hanging out with the Elves and humans! If it worked for Adrial, why not the rest of them?

I got to sit next to C.L. Wilson at RomCon last weekend! I only fan-grrl'd on her a little bit :) She was so nice and she said that Book 5 is wrapping up so our long wait is almost over. I'm glad there will be spinoff books, because I don't want over to be over!

Susan, I think Anne Bishop's books have a similar feel, though darker. Nancy Springer's early series that started with The White Hart is also similar but more lyrical. I'm always on the lookout for big fantasy with strong romance.

I totally agree. I have to say though, I was completely in love with this series until "Queen of Song and Souls" I felt the book was nothing but fluff to produce more revenue.

Before reading the 4th book I was a little obsessed and could not wait till she finished the series. "Queen of Song and Souls" has kind of turned me off to the series. I still think the series is great but just isn't obsessed with it anymore. Maybe the last book will revive me.
