Joyce Dale | 135 comments One of my favorite authors. I wonder if his son will continue his writing tradition - he co-wrote the last book.

A huge loss to the mystery world :(

Melodie (melodieco) | 3671 comments I saw this on another board I post on earlier. I read some of his books and recall liking them. Was a lot of years ago. I should pick up one and see if I still like them. I thought of Margie when I saw he had passed away because she always liked his books.

Ann (annrumsey) | 15399 comments Thanks, Gail.
I haven't read a Dick Francis book. I seem to recall a few years back when his wife passed away that there had been speculation his publishing a book a year might come to an end since she helped him with his research and editing. I didn't realize his son had come on board to help, that is great. What an amazing output of books!

Joyce Dale | 135 comments Yes, his wife did help with his research. Although is books were always centered around the horse racing world, his main characters were extremely varied in their careers. He and his wife always did extensive research into the careers before they used them in a book.
