Yay! I'm excited for this film. The book How to Train Your Dragon reminds me a lot of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I've only read the first few chapters but boys will adore the book and movie I'm sure. Has anybody read the book?

Beth (bibliocat4) I took my kids to see this movie today and it is TOTALLY different than the books BUT I thought the movie was really good. I liked these book series better than Diary of a Wimpy Kid so I will probably wait for that movie to come on on DVD.

Vanessa | 6 comments We have not read the book by Cressida Cowell, but I took my kiddos to see this a couple of days ago. It was such a delightful, fun movie. My 8-yr-old boy totally related to Hiccup, the non-sporty but innovative hero, and my animal-loving daughter just loved the idea of taming a large, wild animal and making it into a pet. Toothless the dragon reminded us all of our black lab in places. We saw the 2-d version as I can't deal with 3-d (headache, barfing), but my husband will be taking the kids back to the 3-d version tomorrow because they loved the film so much.

That's awesome. I've been hearing by alot of people that the movie was great, although the plot was nowhere close to the book. I can't wait to see it.

Rachel (librarymom12) I also didn't read the book, but absolutely loved the movie. My husband was all gung-ho about seeing it and I was ambivalent but I'm glad we went.
