Storm in Taken by Storm by Marie Rochelle. He really does something awful to Syleena (not physically). I don't think I've seen anything so mean in a book before.

Well this list is more for heroes who hurt the heroine emotionally. But you can start a thread for tough heroines, if you want.

Oh, I don't want to make a list about heroines. I was just making a statement about a hero hurting the heroine.

Are you saying she should hurt something on him in return? That's how I feel when I read these books. :)

Yes, but not what some people probably think.

There are some that are worse about it, than others. I'm thinking the books where the hero really puts the heroine through the wringer, emotionally. Sometimes I like to read these books, because they're angsty. I love angsty books. Usually I spend the whole time yelling at the hero and calling him a jerk.

-Edward Cullen from the Twilight Series
He totally devasted Bella, and can do it again if he chooses.
-Bill Compton from the Sookie Stackhouse Series
Totally broke Sookie's heart. I still curse him, LOL!
-Raphael from the Guild Hunter Series by Nalini Singh
Oh, he could break Elena heart with just a snap of fingers, but I think the reward is worth the risk in Elena's case!
-Curran from the Kate Daniels Series by Ilona Andrews
He hasn't broken Kate's heart yet, but he sure has the potential.

I just found this thread, but I must say that I still have some hatred for Bill even now. I couldn't even really like him on the TV show.
As for Diana Palmer, I love her heroes! The only one I've ever loathed and despised was Rodrigo from Fearless. He never redeemed himself enough for me....I don't think he could ever do anything to redeem himself for all the mess he put Gloryanne through.

I've heard some really bad things about Rodrigo. I guess that's why I haven't read Fearless yet.

Oh, that would be a deal breaker for me. No way that any heroines would put up with that right?

I don't know about Eugenie, because I never read her story, but for Alyssa, well, let me see how I can break it down. Alyssa and Sam shared as nemesis' and afterwards she basically told him that she didn't want a relationship with him. That what they did was a one time thing. Sam wanted a relationship. Alyssa thought he was just out to use her. So, six months later, they hook up again and this time, they were going to step in the direction of being a couple, but that's when Sam found out that he was going to be a father. I'm going to stop there.
Sam was hurt that Alyssa didn't want to be with him and like other men, he semi moved on with his life. Semi, because he was in love with Alyssa, but she didn't want him, so he moved on to the next woman.
Sam and Alyssa has been through a rough path, before they finally gotten their HEA. I love their story.

For Eugenie, it happened before they met, the guy is all hers, but she was angry at him for withholding the info.

Oh okay. Thanks.

Definitely........just finished Gone Too Far.......What a GREAT story:):)

There's an insurance commercial, where the daddy is talking to his daughter about driving and they show her as a little girl and then we see her as a teenager. (Daddy's little girl). I could picture Sam doing that to Haley.

I know that commercial. It's so sweet. Makes me think of my little girl and that someday she'll be driving :(

You think now you're looking forward to that, wait until they get their permit and you start biting your nails down to the nub. I hated that stage, thank goodness the youngest is now 21.
My DS#2 is probably a heartbreaker, the longest intimate relationship he's had since high school probably lasted less than 3 hours.
lol @ Mollie*
DS#2 does sound like a heartbreaker if he only lasts for 3 hrs :) But who knows... maybe some gal out there will rope him in.

Could be, could be, right now he's just a little too focused on his career.
I was looking on my hard drive, and I have no photos of him. He's a stand-up comedian in Seattle, and has gotten good enough to give up his day jobs. Hunt facebook or youtube for Seth Lazear, he's a cutie when he shaves or gets a haircut. Maybe the nice ladies on this site could fix him up with a nice Jewish girl?
