Shannon Hedges | 12 comments Has anyone seen the 2007 film called _The Man from Earth_? It's about a man who confesses to his university colleagues that he is over 14k years old, thus likely a Cro-Magnon. There are a lot of insights about history and cognition. I though it was absolutely fantastic. The first 20 minutes are rather cheesy, but it gets brilliant fast so hang in there. :)

I hope you like it! I hadn't heard of it either. It stimulated a lot more discussion than _Avatar_ or any other recent sci-fi film I've seen.

FYI: It can be streamed instantly on Netflix. :)

I did a bit of research and see this was written by Jerome Bixby, who penned a few of the memorable (original) Twilight Zone episodes. I moved near the top of my queue and hope to watch it soon.

I will second Shannon's positive review. Awesome movie. When it ended I wanted more.

Mawgojzeta Just watched it Saturday night. Loved it.

I felt like I was watching a play. Both the dialog and that the movie took place primarily in one room gave that "play" feel. Maybe that was not on purpose.

Look forward to watching it again in the future.

Shannon Hedges | 12 comments After we watched the movie, my husband commented that it would make a great play. It'd be rather easy to do for the reason you mentioned.

I almost watched it again over the weekend when a friend was visiting, but we chose "Gattaca" over it--another one of my faves.
