I just got back too; not really...idk how I feel about it. Yeah I saw the end part, everyone was getting up to leave but then it started and we all just stood there and right before the fridge thing, we (everyone in the theater, basically) started laughing because we KNEW what was going to happen. I liked that part.

Tara | 328 comments I saw it!!! It was actually I pretty good movie, I thought. Not much like the book, but if you look at it just as a movie, it was great ^^

When did he giggle? I liked the falling part lol.

message 9: by Dogluver (new)

Dogluver I just saw it and I liked the giggle, too. It was in the Lotus Hotel, but where was the falling part? Persephone was so EPIC, but overall, I thought that the Harry Potter movies were better in comparison to the respective books.

Yeah I agree. The movie was great, but for a book-movie not so much.

message 11: by Dogluver (new)

Dogluver Definitely.

The part where he fell during capture the flag! It was awesome. And Persephone made me want to gag.

message 13: by Dogluver (new)

Dogluver Lol, yeah. "He won't remember a thing!" *scary giggle*

But yeah, I loved Capture the Flag! ^_^

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

I still don't remember that part...

message 16: by Dogluver (new)

Dogluver That was one of Persephone's lines. The giggle was in the Lotus Hotel after they started eating the 'specialty dish'.

Ohhh. I have to see it again.

message 18: by Tara (new)

Tara | 328 comments Persephone seemed too... friendly. I think of her as cold and distant, which is what the book portrays her as, IIRC. I could be wrong, though, I didn't have time to reread it before seeing it.

message 19: by Sean (new)

Sean | 2 comments I saw it and really liked it. It was good for a book-movie.

I saw it the day it came out at 3:45 PM!! I loved it but it was nothing like the book... If I hadn't read the book right before the movie, I wouldnt've remembered anything about the pearls. Because in the book a water person just gives them to him in the Mississippi...

Ooh! I really really really think that Riordan should make a book completely separate from the others, like I wouldn't even call it a prequel, of Annabeth's, Thalia's, and Luke's adventures as they traveled to CHB. Also did anyone think about how Thalia was older than Luke at that time? I never realized that.

I have heard that Riordan plans to make another series based on a new generation and the Last Olympian ends in such a way for another series. My new role play is based around how Percy Jackson fans envision the series. its a new group so pls join!

Samie Foster | 3 comments I saw it and at first I'm like it's okay. But the more I think about I realize I really don't care to ever watch it again. I expected them to change things, and they did, but they changed everything. And if the movie is fun I don't care. But I was actually bored. I liked Percy. Grover's character was never explained and just seemed to be comedy relief. And Annabeth. She was horrible. I think the movie just might of been better to remove her entirely. I just didn't like her at all and she didn't pull off being a teenager at all. I just felt that the director didn't care about the material. And they left some really major elements out. I can't call this a good adaption. It wasn't fun. It wasn't exciting. I just thought that it was kind of lame. I'll just stick to the books.

message 41: by Justin (new)

Justin | 1 comments I thought it was a good movie, but didn't do the book justice. Also, I hated how Poker Face AND Tik Tok were played in the Lotus Casino. Also, Annabeth (who in the book was emphasised about her blonde hair and grey eyes) had brown hair and, like blue eyes

message 42: by Dogluver (new)

Dogluver Yup

Sofia Yesica wrote: "lol i might see again loved percy's giggle it cracked me up lol"

I agree! I loved that part.
*******************************************************
What I think is, they're two separate things, the books and the movie. They were both good in their own ways, but comparing them will just make you mad. I liked how they explained the lotus casino, though.
So, how do you guys have quotes by your name?

I agree with Sofia about the movie, and I discovered something else I like about it too. Even though they must up a lot of little details--ok, a lot of IMPORTANT details--the main idea, the whole reason we love these books, the spirit of adventure and friendship and intensity, those were there. They showed the excitement and danger of Greek mythology and I believe they also showed the major theme of even if you're young/weak, if you stand up for those you love and what you believe in then you can defeat your enemies that seem to be bigger and more powerful than you. I think that's the important thing here.
