It sounds like it has pages like a book but I can't find the isbn on the LoC site to find a specific author. Of course, it may just fall under the NOT A BOOK category. What do you think?

That's a teacher's companion book of various to-be-xeroxed sheets for classroom use when reading The Giver as a class. I'd say it's a book as much as any other study guide.

Lasairfiona | 38 comments So where do we put study guides? It obviously isn't by Lois Lowry but who is it by? I guess I need to search further.

You may not be able to find an author, in which case I suggest using the publisher. Many guides don't list the actual author(s) anywhere.

Lasairfiona | 38 comments Another one! Biggie Patterns: Back to School. The front of the book says it is full of patterns for bulletin boards. I wouldn't call it a book. Opinions?

I vote Not a Book.

Lasairfiona | 38 comments Excellent. I'll take care of it. Back to Scholastic Inc. ::sighs:: At least it is a lot easier than the Random House one.
