I don't know about you, but it sure feels like January went by fast. Since tomorrow is the first of February, I thought I'd get this thread started so it would be up and ready for us to list our February purchases. Have fun.

P.S. Don't forget to go to the polls and tally up your January purchase total to see how bad or how good (depending how you look at it) you were compared to the other Book Buying Addicts. :-)

You'll like Skinwalker, it's an original story, a neat combo of vampires and shifters.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic I haven't been counting my swaps [at all:] as purchases. but if I did, I'd start this month with:
Nauti Intentions (Nauti, #4) by Lora Leigh Beast Of Dreams by Cynthia Williams

Have you read them yet? Will you let me know if they're good? I keep seeing them at the bookstore and think about picking them up, but I haven't heard anything about them.

Devi (shimmerpop) | 22 comments So far this month I've only gotten:

Dining Bar Akira

I haven't read them yet. I'm a huge fan of the movie and a friend of mine recommended them. She read them, and was really impressed. She can hardly wait for vol 4 to be released. I hope to read them soon, and I definitely let you know :o)

Unapologetic_Bookaholic I bought Anansi Boys at work Thurs.

Miracle of miracles, I actually haven't bought anything yet. But Borders is really tempting me, today they sent me an All Books Buy 1, Get 1 50% Off coupon. I've read that Borders is really in danger of going out of business and I fear they might. They seem to be offering these unbelievable coupons every week to try and drum up more business.

LooLoo Joseph wrote: "I've read that Borders is really in danger of going out of business and I fear they might. They seem to be offering these unbelievable coupons every week to try and drum up more business."

I sure hope they don't go out of business. Now I feel bad because I've been holding out for a 40% coupon which they haven't offered yet this year.

message 15: by Anne (last edited Feb 05, 2010 09:07AM) (new)

Anne (booklover6) that comes to 25% off....not good enough for me. I won't give in to the temptation!

2 books came from book depository for me today. They don't seem to have many 50% off books this month.

I want to buy Black Magic Sanction this month. Amazon is offering a 46% off preorder price while Book Depository is only offering 25% off. I'm debating whether to preorder it from Amazon now or wait and see if BookDepo will offer the 50% off when the book comes out like they sometimes do.

message 17: by LooLoo (new)

LooLoo Joseph - I would wait a little longer and watch bookdepo because last month they upped the prices at the first of the month and then started coming back down on a lot of books by mid month. I'm hoping they will offer First Drop of Crimson for 50% off soon. Right now they are only $.05 off the full price.

Joseph (bluemanticore) | 1855 comments Mod
I'll try, Looloo. But it's SO hard to wait sometimes. :-)

I was wondering if that was why I was suddenly getting a barrage of Borders coupons in my email, I hope they don't go out of business, too many bookstores are disappearing! I bought too much anime this month and don't have as much for books, otherwise I'd totally be using that buy 1, get one 50% off!

message 20: by Patrik (new)

Patrik | 18 comments I will be in 2 weeks in US and think that I need to go to borders before they eventually close business (this would be very bad...)

Susan, I know the feeling. It's like I'm not doing my duty. lol. Unfortunately, my book buying budget has been severely cut do to the recent acquisition of a new used automobile. I think my days of binge buying are gone, at least for the next five years. :-)

One of my dogs is sick, requiring a couple of trips to the vet :o( I'll just wait for my amazon and ebay purchases to arrive, and FINALLY put the bookcase together that I've had for over a month.
