Well each to their own opinion I suppose, but I do rate Spielberg.

Larry (hal9000i) | 71 comments Finally getting round to Childhood's End! I planned to read it on his birthday but due to coming down with a flu I took longer than expected to finish the book I was reading at the time! Anyway I've started re reading it today-I read it years ago but dont remember much about it (a jungle scene at night sticks in my mind for some reason!) and I'm not sure if I 'got it' at the time.

What did you think of it this time, Larry? I just got back from vacation 48 hours ago, else I would have commented here sooner. I am almost afraid to reread it, fearing that I might not like it as well as I did when I first read it in high school.

I'm sorry to hear that. As short as it is, I find it difficult to believe you haven't finished it by now.

Ann Fournier | 1 comments is there anyone in here who knows if Arthur C. Clarke wrote a book on the civil war?

Which civil war? I don't recall ever reading anything he wrote on that topic or hearing about that topic in his writing. I think he touches on the Sri Lankan civil wars in The Last Theorem though.

I think you might be thinking of Isaac Asimov. He wrote something on just about everything....
