I don't think you know the extent of Johnny Depp's acting abilities. He hasn't just played the silly roles, though those are his most well known. But he can also do lots of dif types of movies very well.

yes they did animate them, but they did have people in those awful suits w/ huge knobs on them. Just like they did in 'Pirates' in the skeleton scenes.

it's been considered, but nothing's been done

I have mixed feelings about them turning the book into a movie. Sometimes the movie does not do a very good job in describing the book.

I've looked up a bunch of info on it... it is supposed to be being made. According to Brandon Mull it's in the post-production stage. Meaning they're still writing the script and such. I heard that if there are going to be open auditions then it'll be at the end of the year but the chances of that are slim. It's being directed by a guy who's done lots of big movies... I think he did X-men or Spiderman or something along those lines.
