Candace, can't beat Goodreads for adding to your to read list. Mine feels like a Leaning Tower of Pisa.
It is so nice to find a group called "Comfort Reads". With all that life has to throw at you, it's nice to get away with fun and fantasy. Hello to all.

Hi Cassie,
That's so neat you found us through your grandmother. Welcome to Goodreads and welcome to Comfort Reads!

Hi everyone, i am Janet. I live in FL and I have been active on the GoodReads site for about 1 yr. The "Book Addicts" group is my usual haunt. I find that I am often asking other members for suggestions on light, comfort type reading, so I was happy to find your group. Once I figure out how these shelves work, I think I will be able to add some holiday reading. It is in the month of December that I especially enjoy reading for comfort.
Hi, Janet. Welcome to the group. From the group's home page, you can scroll down and see all our discussion folders and the discussion threads within them. And, you can check out our bookshelves. All the books on them have been called a comfort read by at least one group member. We have really eclectic taste here, but I'm sure you'll find others who like your kinds of comfort read books. Feel free to post and to ask any questions.
Welcome, Janet! I'm positive you will find tons of great comfort reads. As Lisa says, we have a diverse group, there is something for everyone. :-)
Hi, my name is Dawn. I was looking through groups and this one sounds...well.. comforting! I can always use comforting and I love the kitten in the profile picture :)
Hello, my name is Andrew. I am relatively new on Goodreads and I was looking around for something of interesting. This group seemed to me a good choice
Hello, Andrew. Welcome to the group, and to Goodreads. I hope you enjoy it here. We have a lot of nice and interesting people here. Looking forward to getting to know you if you decide to participate more.
Lee wrote: "Welcome, Andrew! Make yourself at home. :-)"Yes, but how does one make him/herself at home on a website? Best bet is substitute slippers for shoes, lean back in an easy chair, and pour yourself a martini. But don't turn on the computer, whatever you do. Best, Clark

Hi there, I'm new to this group. My name is Leslie, and I love to read. Over the past few years, my comfort reads have been cookbooks; unfortunately that typically leads to cooking, and its been unkind to my waistline. I'm hoping that goodreads can help me get back to reading more normal books. My comfort read (non-cookbook) has been Wicked (Maguire). However, I'm now discovering the genre of books about food, and am loving "my berlin kitchen" - comforting in that its not difficult, but rather evokes the sensation of particular seasons, aromas, the feel of the sun on your face, and the smell of cooking. Hmmm, there is that cooking again.
Hi, Leslie. Welcome to the group. A few of us here do love cookbooks but I think all of us love other comfort read books too. You'll find members here are diverse and love all sorts of genres. I think we'll be able to help you find books that are appealing to you that are not cookbooks. Feel free to take a look around at our discussion threads, our bookshelves, our polls, and post whenever, wherever.
Hi my name is Renee and as you probally guessed new to this group. I really love to read. I read a little of most every thing, most of it mystery and fantasy. I do like Fern Michaels books though. I enjoy books I can laugh with and use to read Evanovich but the last couple of the Plum series was a waste of time. If any one has suggestions please let me know. Thanks.
Hi, Renee. Welcome to the group. Take a look around and I'm sure you'll find lots of new books that will be comfort reads for you. Thanks for sharing some of your favorites.
Welcome, Leslie and Renee!
I'm so happy to see my buddy Leslie here, we actually met on a site devoted to cookbooks. I'm sure you'll both find tons of great reads here on Goodreads and within our lovely group of comfort readers. Our members are full of good suggestions, if you have questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Hello, Fellow Goodreaders:Happy to be here, and looking forward to having a swell of a time as I make the most of the site/group.
Hi, Rob. Welcome to the group! Looking forward to getting to know you. Jump in wherever you feel comfortable. Lurking is fine too. :-)
Hi! I'm Boomer. I'm a fan of SciFi and Fantasy but I think my comfort read would actually be webcomics and/or books I've previously read that really tug on my heartstrings; Uglies series, Hunger Games series, Wheel of Time series, as far as books are concerned. I have no idea how many times I've read those three series in the past few years.
Hi, Boomer. Welcome to the group. I love The Hunger Games Trilogy Boxset. I should reread them again at some point.
I hope you enjoy it here. Feel free to look around and post when you want.
Hi,I'm Jane, a Canadian novelist and avid reader. Glad I found this group of enthusiastic bookaholics! You can find more about me at www.janebow.com, also at Iguana Books http://iguanabooks.com/authors/jane-bow/
HI everyone! I'm Sue from Buffalo NY. I am an avid reader of most genre's. I am a book blogger & reviewer. And just in the past month, a manuscript proofreader. I am eager to join a group here on Goodreads that is actually active with book discussions, group reads, etc.Anyone in this group from the Buffalo, NY area?
Sue,Welcome tot he group!
We don't actually do group reads here, not officially anyway. Occasionally, 2 or more of our members will get together an do a buddy read. We're not THAT active with book discussions either, but I hope you'll enjoy the group anyway.
There are MANY groups here that do group reads, though they're often genre specific. Usually they are. I also enjoy many book genres and used to belong to many groups so I could participate in many genres, but now I belong only a very few.
Feel free to look around and also go up to groups and do a search.
You could also try starting a buddy read here. Our members love all sorts of genres, so you might find a few who'd want to participate.
Goodreads tends to be low activity in November and December so you might find it hard to do that before January.
In groups that have regular monthly books, this is a good time for you to look for a group and join them for their December book discussion, if you're interested in doing that.
Welcome, Sue! I live not too far from Buffalo but on the other side of the border in Canada. Our most active thread is our currently reading thread where members let us know what they're reading. They're not always comfort reads but I think we all love it because we get tons of great reading suggestions.
Hello everyone! Glad to be here, what a wonderful idea to have a comfort reads group.Comfort reads for me means something I can read in bed at night and will encourage happy, delicious dreams. Nothing disturbing. A happy ending.
I've just released my first book, "Mail Order Love". I hope it's OK to mention it here! It is a sweet & clean historical romance.
I'm looking forward to being part of this group :)
Amy
Hi, Amy. Welcome to the group. I think we still have an authors' corner folder for self promoting posts. We're all different types here re reading tastes, but I'm sure you'll find plenty of people who you'll share comfort reads taste with, and probably will fins plenty of books to read too.
Thank you Lee! I was just looking at all the different books people are enjoying as comfort reads, it's interesting how diverse it is. Cooking & yummy food is nice to read about in bed I think ;)
