What do you think attracts you and others to young adult writing?

I work with teenagers, so I find literature for and about them interesting and enjoyable. I love stories, so finding stories to share with teens that they will enjoy is also part of the lure for me. Lastly, I think that adolescence is this strange mix of innocence and self discovery. Now as an adult, I like revisiting that period of time briefly when I read these texts.
