My personal favorites other than the obvious:#1 Gratch (Loyal, Fierce, and oddly loveable)
#2 Cara (love a lady in red who is witty yet lethal)
#3 Chase (Biggest teddy bear every when a kid is involved but woe to the guy who crosses him)
#1 Verna (I love the trials she had to go thru and her struggle to lead as Prelate and her love with the prophet)#2 Dalton (I like how he always has a plan)
WOW.... i agree with Verna but DALTON!?!?!?! I hated him until the end when he went super psycho style and killed his wife and the Soveriegn by giving them an STD
I think Dalton was just trying to do his job, kind of like an assain just does his job even though the things they do are wrong. But I think his relationship with his wife showed his human side. I just would have liked to see him change over and do more good in the end, I don't think he fit in well with those Anderith people. I think the worst thing he did was pin all the blame on Fitch but in a way he did his job and saved Fitch's life at the same time. He is very crafty and that is what I appreciated most about him.
true i will give you that. I just didnt like the way he used people, even though he did his job, he was really just out to gain status and power. Doesnt make him much different than Darken Rahl in that sense.
Well that is very true. I think I just saw so much potential in him to do good and he never really did, except in the end (kind of). I wish he would have done something about saving Franca's life though instead of just standing there but it was his fault in the first place for letting that fanatic out of jail.
I know!!! Before I realized the whole raven thing was Zedd, I was so nervous that maybe they had permanently killed off Zedd. That would be awful!! I'm still anticipating Richard and Zedd actually sitting down and talking about everything that has happened and maybe Zedd teaching Richard some things. But Richard obviously is starting to live by his own rules as a wizard.
Which is the whole point of being the seeker anyway, right??? Its a combination of two totally awesome people all roled up into one person, which is why everyone so readily calls him "a rare person".
I love Cara, something about a blonde in leather.. LOLAlso Nicci, she knows what she wants and no one can stop her from getting it.
and of course Zedd.
hmm... as far as I am in the books I would probably say Nathan and Ann. I like how they interact with each other as well as Nathan's cleverness. Ann's POV is just different, and I like that.
Totally Zedd and Nathan! they're both so eccentric yet wise! often they know things that need doing but also know there is no time to explain so they're always fun to read about :D
I definitely love Cara and Nicci.Cara, because of her sarcasm - without her the book would be too serious.Nicci because a part of me wanted something to happen between her and Richard. But I guess the book already had a lot going on with the Imperial Order, witches and sorceress plotting to end the world - a love triangle would just spoil things. I wish someone would write a fan-fiction version of the book. Where Richard ended up with Nicci or something had developed between them.
Favorite GoodguysNicci and Cara because they once were the badguys.
Zedd... "if he's not eating :-)"
And i like the idea of the sliph.
Favourite Badguys.
Jagang (the world is doomed if his rule will dominate)
Queen Violet (so cute but soooo evil)
Nicci In faith of the fallen.
Fave good: 1.Dena(hey she became good)
2.Bird man(what can I say the dudes cool)
Fave bad: 1.Dena(she was also bad)
2.Darken Rahl

I'm in naked empire right now, so I don't know if she reappears in the series or not, but I liked Berdine! And obviously I like Cara!
yeah they were cool. remember Kahlans comment when Berdine said richards hands fit perfictly over her brests in the blood of the fold???
Denna(when she wasn't being totally evil)Cara(I loved her sarcasm)
Zed(gotta love him)
Nicci(I liked her when she turned good)
and those are all I remember because I read the books awhile ago an d forgot alot of what happened so I have to re-read them.
Besides Richard or Kahlan... I love Zedd and Nathan, they're such excellent characters. And Warren. Some minor characters I liked were Dalton, Nicholas the Slide (his abilities were just, so awesome...), and the night wisps.
Other than Richard i would have to go with Nathan. He is so old and wise, yet he has a seductive aura, despite his age, that draws others to him.
As I yet to begin Book 4, my faves would be Zedd (how could anyone not like Zedd), Sister Verna and Gratch. :)
Gratch and Cara are my favorite characters. :) I cannot wait till The Omen Machine!!! :D hopefully it'll give us more characters to love. <3
Nathan is hands down my number one favorite and shota but Jagang takes the cake that man is one twisted villan
Stevie wrote: "Nathan is hands down my number one favorite and shota but Jagang takes the cake that man is one twisted villan"I wonder what cake can be given to Jagang. Hmmmm, one that explodes when he lights it up! LOL!
Stevie wrote: "lol unibomber cake? that would work :)"So when do we send it over. Sister Verna & the Aydindril chefs are antsy about their new recipe! LOL!!!
Can anyone help me find somewhere I can read a good synopsis of each of the books? I finished reading the series before Confessor was published and have finally bought a used copy of that last book, but I have forgotten so much of the details of the series. I'd really rather not re-read it all....I just don't have time for that!
Carrie wrote: "Can anyone help me find somewhere I can read a good synopsis of each of the books? I finished reading the series before Confessor was published and have finally bought a used copy of that last boo..."Hi Carrie, if in doubt Wikipedia is just a click away. ;)

that would of made thier lives so much easier lol :)
Verna- smart, mature, a woman of faith and reason at the same time.Nicci- great character arc, beginning to end. I only wish she would have found love (other than Richard).
Dalton- a tragic figure who wasted his potential for greatness in search for power. I did agree with him at the end that he and Richard could have been friends under different circumstances.
I've only read through Soul of Fire thus far, but my favorite characters are as follows:1. Cara
2. Zedd
3. Nathan
4. Verna
Richard and Khalan annoy me most of the time when they are together, although I'm not adverse to them when they're apart. Richard and Khalan both really disappointed me in this last book, though.
My favorite characters are the following:1) I loved Denna (**SPOILER if you didn't finish the 1st BOOK**). I loved how she came is as the ever Mord-Sith who harmed Richard and tormented him. But TG transitioned her into a character who I cried for near the end of the series. That sort of character development makes me like Denna ALOT! and I loved that this character development continued to happen even after she was dead.
2) I adored Nicci. If she was real, I would try and marry her. (IDK if my spoilers are actually spoilers but i don't wanna be trolled so SPOILER ALERT) Nicci started out as an evil sister when we first saw her. And she got worse when we saw her with Jagang. At this time, we saw that she didn't care about life or anything. But after spending time with Richard and seeing the statue, she was enlightened and started to love herself. I loved her at this moment. She became the most important person (in my opinion) that Richard saved. And plus she is a ridiculously powerful Sister so WIN!
3) While i didn't like Jagang as a person, I loved him as a antagonist. (SPOILER ALERT i guess...) He was an amazingly designed character by TG. TG made Jagang the epitome of true evil. and i liked how Jagang was powerful enough to combat Richard (both in muscle and in brains) which made the their fight much more entertaining to read and much easier to sympathize with Richard. Again, I don't like Jagang as a person, but as a character he was beautifully written and masterfully brought out Richards best qualities.
I mentioned this on the books discussion, Zedd is definitely my favourite character other than Richard and Kahlan. He is always getting into predicaments and is able to get himself out of it, in interesting ways. I also like that he kind of acts as the comic relief at times.
I just started reading this series again, and I forgot how much I like Cara. She just cracks me up, even though it's not intentional.
last_fire wrote: "Just finished my second read-through of the series...have to go with, in this order (I think): Gratch, Nicci, Cara, Zedd, and Scarlet."I just reread book 3..... I get excited just thinking about how AWESOME Gratch is. The series would have ended with Richard getting overrun but not if Gratch has anything to say about it!!!

For sure it would have been a challenge, and a rewarding one at that if done well, had the tv series been able to incorporate GRATCH into the series. (sigh)
