Gary Goldstein | 473 comments Very busy, which is good.

How are you?

By the way, I inadvertently left out the link to my YouTube video on alcohol & drug addiction and recovery, which is a subject I am very passionate about these days.

I hope everyone checks out all of my links.

G.m. Clark (GMClark) | 11 comments Hi,

I'm GM Clark and I'm a UK Crime writer. I currently have a book on Amazon.co.uk - TICK TICK TICK which is doing quite well.

I love writing actually quite a few genres, and the same for my reading, I must be getting an eclectic taste in my old age.
I'm looking forward to meeting new authors, and enjoying lots of new books!

Maria Thermann (mariathermann) | 3 comments Hello Everyone

I'm Maria Thermann and I'm a children's and young adult fiction writer. My first novel Willow the Vampire and the Sacred Grove is selfpublished at Amazon.com and Kindle, because I wanted to retain ultimate artistic control over words and artwork. I write in various genres and for several different age groups, including my first German language crime novel for adults, which I'm hoping to finish by the end of the year (I'm bilingual).

With regard to reading books, I like books written by a strong storyteller who can weave a good yarn that engrosses me - I'm not genre specific in my reading habits either.

My favourite book? The one I haven't read, yet!

Oh introduction, almost forgot ;)
I'm Glenn Scrimshaw and i write daft stories such as The Alienbutt Saga, War of the Coffee Bean.

Nic | 173 comments Hello everyone, i'm new to Goodreads in general. I'm 15 and I live in Canada. I love to read books, and tried to write some of my own short stories, although I'm very un-motivated and stopped for a while. Soon after I decided to create a blog where I would review the books I have read, so far I havn't gotten much popularity nor any feedback but i'm hoping to get some soon. You can find me at http://www.bookmark-reviews.blogspot.ca/
I hope to get along with all of you and share our thoughts on different books. Pleased to meet everyone and thank you for the warm welcome.

I spent more than ten years with the unit. After active duty, I began teaching/writing in the securities licensing business. I'm now a full-time writer/editor. My Amazon page is http://is.gd/kIyJuf. Katrina Welsh (katrinawelsh_) Hi, everyone. I'm Katrina and I read, not write. I cannot really find the right words to convey my thoughts in the way I want and my plot ideas is never as good as others', published or not. But then again, I haven't really committed to anything, for fear of failure. (I know, I am a cliched wuss) I look forward to getting to know you all, readers and authors alike. I currently live in New Zealand.

message 2566: by Terry (new)

Terry Ambrose | 8 comments Hi, all, my name is Terry and I write mysteries/suspense. I'm one of those writers who likes to let the character development drive the story. I'm not big on "perfect" characters, but instead like mine flawed--much like real people. My tastes run toward humor, not dark or gruesome. I have some friends that write darker stuff and, as much as I'd love to read their work because they're great writers, I prefer to sleep at night. :-)

Hi Kartina,
Don't be afraid to fail. Your failures are your successes. Sounds like your judging yourself too harshly. Give your writing a chance. You may be surprised. I wrote Puppies For Sale:$25.00, so Nic, if want to review that please do so. This was my first attempt at writing. Sort of just happened and wasn't anything I planned on doing. It was scarey putting myself out there because this book is my heart on my sleeve, but regardless of whether anyone likes it or not, I love it and that's what matters.
That was your pep talk for the day:)

message 2570: by Melyssa (new)

Melyssa Williams My name is Melyssa Williams and you can find my book here on Goodreads. I also write humor columns for home educating magazines and do a bit of ghost writing on the side.
I'm a fast reader who loves just about any genre (my book is YA) as long as it's well written and engaging, and I'm most at home in a library. :)

I am Deb Atwood, author of the soon-to-be-indie-published (if the stars align) women's fiction book Moonlight Dancer. I'm also a writing tutor--pretty good job in that it allows mornings to write and do the stuff of life. I hope to learn to navigate the author program here. Thanks!

You're absolutely right. I do judge myself too harshly. I'll try to give myself more credit the next time I try writing again. Lol thanks for the pep talk :)

Derek Thompson (d01rok) | 2 comments Hey Vincent et al.

My name is Derek Thompson and I'm a writer that has just released my first book. It's a humorous memoir about bipolar disorder titled "Somewhere Over the Rainbow, I've Lost My Damn Mind." It's also more than just an account of coming to terms with a mental health condition, it's a story of being young and feeling lost, dealing with heartbreak and still finding plenty to laugh about, no matter what happens.

Have a good one,
Derek

Jeffrey Kosh (jeffreykosh) | 17 comments Hi, my name's Jeffrey.
Actually I live in Thailand, and spend my full time writing books, hosting authors on my blog, and practicing a lot of marketing. I have four books under my belt: a full-length novel, an anthology, and two short stories (Kindle exclusive).
You can check my blog (Jeffrey Kosh's Prosperity Glades) here: http://jeffreykosh.blogspot.com/

J.Z. Murdock (jzmurdock) | 12 comments JZ Murdock. It would take too long to explain my writing history here. But after trying to get published over the years, I decided to go for it a few years ago and I've gotten a long way.

Several screenplays finished (Dark of kNight - adaptation and HearthTales and others). Stories in two anthologies (Undead Nation Anthology and Rhonny Reaper's Creature Features). My first online short story (Simon's Beautiful Thought) on Amazon and Smashwords and Barnes and Noble, my first book of short stories online (Anthology of Evil) and later this month my second book online (Death of Heaven).

I have worked in IT for many years, working as a tech writer in the 90s for some years before going more technical. Now being divorced and the kids out of the house last year, I'm working two jobs, day bill paying job and writing, working hard to transition and forever leave IT behind me as a distant and uncomfortable memory. :)

It's been an exciting year so far.

Tom Lichtenberg Hello, I'm Tom Lichtenberg. I've been writing a lot of different kinds of stuff for a long time. Most of it is available for free through Smashwords and all its various outlets. It's been fascinating to watch the wide range of reviews and ratings my stories have been receiving, especially here on Goodreads. The same books can get one or five stars for exactly the same reasons! My motto is from a friend's gardening mantra - "one tomato is great. more than one is abundance!" - substitute reader for tomato and you've got it! Wishing good luck to all writers here, indie and otherwise!

Jess Moris (jmmoris) | 4 comments Hello Goodreads,

I'm J.M. Moris, and I've been penning stories since I was old enough to write. Currently I'm in the final editing stages for my first novella, "My Indian Queen," which is a coming-of-age story set in the American south. It chronicles one momentous summer between a young man and his feisty new Indian neighbor, who's as fierce as she is beautiful, with the vocabulary of a sailor and the moves of a kung fu master.

Once published, my work will be available for distribution to Amazon Kindle, B&N Nook, Apple iPad, Sony, Kobo, Diesel, and more.

I'm looking forward to meeting and interacting with you all!

Have a blessed and wonderful day.
- J.M. Moris

Since this is a whole new genre for me I am looking to reach out to horror readers and to get their feedback.

I hope readers enjoy my book as much as I enjoyed writing it while listening to Kanye Weet and Jay Z's " No Church In The Wild " playing on a continuos loop...LOL

My debut novel is releasing around the end of May/first of June.
Darkness Comes This Way (The Guardians of the Night #1) by Pixie Lynn Whitfield
Though I've been writing stories since childhood, this is the first time I can call myself an "author". I've had a few short stories published before this, but nothing else. I'm always writing or reading. :) I'm currently working on the sequel to this trilogy, as well as another stand-alone YA Dystopian/Horror novel right now.

I write YA mostly (Paranormal, Dystopian, and Horror), but I love reading in a wide variety of genres. I'm also a book blogger.

I love baseball, music, great friends, history, and Supernatural (not necessarily in that order).
Great looking group. I look forward to being a part of it! :)
