This is the second book I wrote and the third is in the mix. "The 60's If You Remember it You Didn't Live it" will be out this summer some time if I can only remember what to write about.

Lubna | 16 comments Hi from Mumbai, India. I am a number cruncher and also a columnist in a financial daily. That said, someday I hope to foray as a writer in the world of fiction (or rather I shall call it semi-fiction as my real life experiences and encounters with people will be the foundation of any book that I hope to write).
At present, I am content with reading, I love reading books by new authors - it takes courage to write a book and many of you here on GoodReads and in this group are a source of inspiration.
Today is Holi in India, which is the spring festival, so I wish everyone good luck with their writing.
I review books on my blog, url below.

Yuriy Shishkov (yuriyshishkov) | 5 comments Hello to everyone! My name is Yuriy Shishkov. If anyone would ever tell me that one day I will write a book, I would laugh at him for the rest of my life. Well, after making guitars for ordinary folks and famous artists since 1986, I had to write my story... Everything from KGB, Chernobyl tragedy, to making guitars in a Soviet root cellar is there. Please visit my profile and check out my book at Amazon, B&N and iBooks. I hope I will be welcomed here.
Thank you!

Sue Morris (smmorris) | 18 comments Hi. My name is . . . never mind, let me try again.* Hi. I am Sue and I run a children's book review site called Kid Lit Reviews http://kid-lit-reviews.com

I am nearing the end of a course at The Institute of Children's Literature, which is how the review site got started. I was told to read many, many ,many books like the one I wanted to write. I'd like to write a middle grade chapter book and a picture book. At the moment it is more stories and articles.

If anyone writing kid's books (except young adult), and needs a review, let me know. I NEVER charge for a review and do not believe authors/publishers should ever pay for a review. How objective can a paid review be anyway?

*Anyone who remembers the Johnny Cash song with the line "Hi, my name is Sue, how do you do?" Sue is a man and that is what popped into my head when I started to greet everyone here. Hence the do over. :-)

Melanie Stinson (melaniestinson) | 2 comments Aloha! I'm Melanie and I’m an artist, nonfiction writer, screenwriter, and self-published author. Since I love chatting with children at art walks and other events, I’ve tried my hand at picture and chapter books and stories. I’m currently and verrrry slowly writing a young adult contemporary fantasy novel.

You can read my Symphony in C Dance Spirit Poems via http://lulu.com/aplace4us Two children’s books are also on lulu, 1) The Middle Princess (a chapter book for ages 8-10) though adults can read it to younger children and 2) Hilarede Centipede, A Many Shoe Adventure (free download for preschool-K).

I'm slowly in the process of preparing The Middle Princess for smashwords and kindle and getting advice and editing for my middle grade novel. If you love Dancing with the Stars, you can read my analysis for this or past seasons on the first site below, my main website.

Melanie Stinson (melaniestinson) | 2 comments Hi Anna. You can't really take a step to get a movie made of your book unless you're independently wealthy to have the means to do it all yourself and know how to write screenplays. Otherwise, an independent producer/filmmaker told me, it's a good thing to write a New York Times bestseller. :)

Hi Ana, Paul - Actually it is possible. A good friend of mine, Mark David Gerson is producing his Fantasy series: The Mon Quest, The Sun Quest and The Star Quest into independently produced movies through a company in Albuquerque. He is the Author and Executive Producer so he has kept 100% control.

After he finishes with his, I'm going to collaborate with him with my Defense Force Series - probably not until 2016 or 2017 - I should have the books converted into screenplay format by then.

Gary Wilson | 11 comments "Please introduce yourself."

Hi, My name's Gary Wilson, I'm a sci/fi - action/adventure writer from Albuquerque, New Mexico. I am the author of the Defense Force Series: ADF: The triangle, CDF: Sake of Time and TDF: 2025. I have a fourth novel, Special Ops Force: Quantum Armageddon due out in June.

My stories revolve around an elite fighting force that faces hostile aliens, inter-dimensional threats - and each other.

The story lines deal with time travel, alternate realities and a theory call the Time Displacement Paradox: How changing a single event can conceivably change the entire course of history

Alex (alexlukeman) | 63 comments Hi Folks, Thanks, Vincent, for forming this group. I am a Goodreads author with several books out there, some traditional (the non-fiction) and some Indie. I write thrillers, an ongoing series about a counter-terrorism unit called the PROJECT. The third book, The Seventh Pillar, has just come out in Kindle and paperback.

You can find a few reviews on Goodreads for White jade, the first in the series, and many more on Amazon.

I'm more interested in what other writers are experiencing than in promoting my books, although Of course I want to do that also. From time to time I may announce a giveaway or promotion, but that will be the extent of it. I write a blog called the Independent Writer, which you can read here on Goodreads or online at http://www.alexlukeman.blogspot.com. I'm a former Marine, folk singer and traveler. I look forward to the interaction.
Thanks,
Alex Lukeman

Jedidiah Behe | 5 comments Hello everyone!

My name is Jedidiah Behe and I am a Reader/Author/Sniper/Gamer....not in that particular order. I am an avid reader and I enjoy Fantasy/Thriller/Suspense novels. I have written and self-published one epic fantasy book and I am in the process of writing a thriller.

I read every chance I get which is not as often as I would like and is even less now that I am trying to market my own book. It is amazing how much time is involved with that.

I am currently reading the Lee Child "Reacher" novels and loving them. Oh and I had to squeeze in "All Necessary Force" by Brad Taylor one night while on task because I forgot my Lee Child book. Now I am half way through two different books and can't figure out which one to finish first...GAH!!

Currently I have 3 books available on the kindle and 1 in paperback. The other two will be available in paperback soon. I am working on the 2nd book of the blight series and then I will hopefully get to work on the 2nd book of Darkness Comes.

Lynda Engler (lyndaengler) | 1 comments I’m Lynda Engler and I’m a Middle Grade and YA author. You can find my last novel (Middle Grade: The Forgotten Isle - time travel/fantasy) in eBook or paperback on Amazon.

I’m working on my next novel, a YA speculative fiction/post-apocalyptic novel called “Out of Ewr” and I want to connect with people who read the genre. Yes, I want to pick your brain! (But not eat it! there are some zombie-like creatures in Out of Ewr who MIGHT want to eat your brain though!)

You can check out my Goodreads author page @ http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/....

Please send a friend request or follow me. I'm enjoying meeting so many people on Goodreads!

I started writing properly around seven years ago and have recently published my first novel. The whole process of getting a book out into the world has been incredibly rewarding so far and I'm excited that so many people have decided to try it out already.

Goodreads is a great site and this group looks like a good way to connect with other readers and authors.
