Short stories are a true gem of literature. They can easily make you laugh out loud, leak a tear, give you a gut punch or even take your breath away. Within the expense of just a few words, you could dive into a hero’s adventure, a soldier's trauma, or a widow’s agony. And the best part, it might take your entire afternoon, or just five minutes of your break.Experience a fresh batch of stories each week on my Substack account and the cost of the subscription is something all readers are abundantly in possession of: love for reading.

I'm Juan Zamora, a young man (Almost 30) who is afraid of becoming old, fragile and invisible. Although I have been invisible most of my life anyway. To my family I'm a special character. Mostly because they know so many secrets, about what I'm truly like inside, instead of how I present myself to the world.I write occasionally, ✍ expressing my intrusive thoughts, and as they say, bleeding through the page. I joined a poetry group, and try my best to find new synonym words, but somehow I always end up repeating the same words. Same stories. Other times I find myself writing things so profound and unique people ask me how I came up with it. I ask myself the same question.
My three works took me almost a decade to write, edit, and publish. You can find out what my work is by checking my profile Juan Zamora They are as original as I could think of. Thinking outside the box.
When I'm not writing I'm releasing music on Soundcloud as Juan Daniel Zamora.
My songs are in English and Spanish. Well, that's it for now. Looking forward to seeing the Aurora Boreales again.

Hi, I’m Anna Rigg from Sydney, Australia. After 3 decades of researching my family tree I wanted to put all that information to use . A story needed to be told. So what better way than to serialise their lives? As a result, the first of 5 books was released a couple of months ago. Fact blended with imagination I produced The Barber Legacy -Sins of the Mother. I’m very proud of it 😄
My name is Barbara Mostella, and I'm a published fiction author of a three-book series titled 'Who would have thought'. I've always desired to write a book, and surprisingly, I've written three. Heyo! I'm Kat and I've been an avid reader for my entire life. I just released my first book this month, which feels surreal. It got its start when I watched The 5th Element and decided I want more stories set in New York.
My favorite genres to read are Romance (of all flavors), sci-fi and urban fantasy.
My background is in Comics & Storyboarding (at least that's what I went to college for) and mobile game user experience design. ;D
Lovely to meet y'all~
Hi, I am Praveen from India. I have been an ardent reader since I started learning the alphabet. I read Tamil, English, Malayalam, and Hindi books. I have been trying to learn Kannada and Telugu so that I can read in those languages also. My favourite genres are horror, mystery, thrillers, and fantasy. But I am not a big fan of self-help books.
Hi, I am Vikram Suryawanshi.I have authored 2 books, A Man with A White Shadow and Why Study?
A Man with A White Shadow is a fiction and Why Study? is a short non-fiction for teenagers in India who don't have enough motivation to study (particularly students of Government schools or second tier school students).
I also like to read but I am a slow reader. Whenever I read any novel and when I read something spectacular, I take atleast a day to digest that and relish that.
The most pauses I took today was while reading The Picture of Dorian Gray, and this is the reason I think it's my favourite.
Hi Vincent and friends of Vincent! Pleasure to meet you! My name is Chris. I recently self-published my first book, The Last of the Giant Fire Lizards, a rip-roaring epic fantasy comedy adventure told from the perspective of a dragon. I do the narration for the audiobook as well. It came out May 6 and so far has earned TEN 5-STAR reviews across Amazon and Audible. Thank you!
Hello my name is Leigh Winters. I've self-published four books under this name, two books under another name and I'm looking to traditionally publish my memoir which I have been working on for five years. I play piano, go to the gym, and compete in poetry slams. I am currently trying to learn sign language. I also suffer from several mental health problems which I am trying to cope with. Feel free to check out my page or drop a note and say hi.
Hello, my name is Katelyn. I've enjoyed creating novels since fourteen years of age. In the past two years, I have released "A Choice with A Promise to Keep" and "A Choice with Hidden Secrets". My novels are women's fiction (slight romance, thriller, and mystery).
In addition to writing, I'm an avid reader in a local library book club. I do enjoy reading and will give any book a chance. If I'm not hooked by page twenty, it does make it more difficult to stay focused on finishing it. However, in most cases, I do pull through to give that author a chance.
I look forward to being more involved with Goodreads and meeting others!
Happy reading and writing,
Katelyn

Hello.I am a transgender man, writing under my future official name, Nathaniel Wonderful. I self-published five fantasy books in my native language, and since last year I have written a new book in English. I was born and raised in the Czech Republic and spent some years in Japan. Now, I live in Costa Rica with my wife and co-author, Raine Stonewall.
Here is a blurb for the book I am currently working on.
Title: The Inscrutable Ways of Fate
Series: The Divine Tragicomedy
Genre: Fiction, Grimdark fantasy
"No one can escape the harsh reality. Four youths living in the same kingdom but in different places are not true heroes, but misfits navigating the treacherous path to adulthood. Eiri, an unruly girl yearning for adventure, finds no role model in her mother. Pepin, a slow boy born with a full beard in a pure elven village, dreams of being a powerful sorcerer. Sebas, the second-born son of a ranger, struggles with jealousy towards his talented brother, who behaves like a prince charming. Hilda, a gambler’s daughter, pays a high price for refuge and love in the most unlikely places.
Their lives are nothing more than drops in the ocean for the higher class and gods. However, every tree was once a small, insignificant seed. Follow the story of complex and morally grey characters in a richly detailed medieval setting where satire and contemporary issues intertwine."
Hi! 👋My name is Chelsea, I’m an avid reader who is on the journey to publishing her first novel.🤞Currently querying agents and writing my second manuscript. 🙂
Hi, I'm author Andy Zach. I've written 8 humorous scifi books in two series. My Life After Life Chronicles is a parody of a zombie apocalypse, starting with Zombie Turkeys.
Here's a blurb:
Sam Melvin, an underachieving e-reporter from a small town, changes forever when he meets turkeys that won't stay dead. You can shoot 'em, chop 'em, burn 'em—they come back stronger. The undead plague of poultry spreads uncontrollably, rocking the whole country. As Sam tracks down the zombie turkeys and how to eradicate them, his editor, Lisa Kambacher, nags him to turn his stories and expenses in on time. During their years of working together, Lisa has mellowed into an irascible pinchpenny. Lisa snipes at Sam for plebeian writing but uses her intelligence to pursue the lucrative carnivorous turkey story.
My Secret Supers series is about four seventh graders with four different disabilities and four different super powers.
Here's a blurb:
Jeremy Gentle fell flat on his face at therapy. That was normal since he had cerebral palsy. But his new superpower wasn't normal. Then things got weirder when his best friend, Dan Elanga, got a different superpower. But Dan was still blind.
Kayla Verdera and Aubrey Wilcosky, two girls in their middle-school special ed class, discovered they too had new superpowers. Kayla was mute and needed a walker. Aubrey lost two legs and used crutches. But they were as powerful as the boys.
What should the four friends do? Jeremy knew if the word got out, it'd be a media circus. Then they started fighting crime, as the Secret Supers. Who knew a disability could be a perfect disguise? No one would ever think of disabled kids as superheroes. Then they ran into problems they never expected.

Hello Vincent.
Vera from the U.K.
I came to Canada to open the branch of Ladybird Children's Clothing.
I have lived in the U.K. Canada, Calgary, Many parts of the States and travelled extensively. I have always enjoyed reading, updating myself of the world and peoples thoughts.
My novel was written for a T.V series
"THE UNKNOWN" by Vera Pearson.
A gripping story of a struggling young woman bombed out of her home in London England. Different countries that the people in my book have travelled to helping this young woman and her life story.
It isn't your every day story of young lovers and their ups and downs.
My people come alive on the page as you are reading through my book.
Their are Lawyers, business people the Police are involved a gripping story that needs to be made into a T.V series not just a book to be left on the shelf.
Tellwell have done a very poor job of advertising my book.
At the present time I am writing another book a thrilling story beautifully written. Both of my books are story's that capture you never wanting to put down until you have read the last page.
To anyone reading about me.
I help as many people as I can each day. My life is non stop no time for sitting around. I like to keep busy decorating, travelling gardening and other activities that interest me.
Reading through your post of other peoples thoughts and what they are trying to achieve.
Never be defined by your past. It was just a lesson not a life sentence. Never give up.
Happy to have met you Vincent.
Regards, Vera.

My name is Anatolii Miroshnychenko, I am a lawyer from Ukraine with the experience in academia, judiciary, executive branch. Since 2022 (after full-scale Russian invasion) I serve with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
My original field of scientific interest is land law and the theory of law. But in recent years based mostly in my first-hand experience I developed an opinion on some of democracy's problems and their possible mitigation (https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...).
