Johnny Sawyer | 14 comments Hi All,

Although I have been a member of Goodreads for a month or so I think I may have forgotten to introduce my first book "THE FILM FREAKS". It is a comedy fantasy aimed at adults and is the exact opposite of a superhero novel. It is actually about people with mind blowing disabilities who all work in a Dorset Cinema having to save their town and beyond.

Anyway, it is quite a wild, unusual tale and I am pleased to say that in the last week it has been featured on BBC Radio in the UK, so is starting to get noticed.

It is available on Amazon in digital, hardback and paperback and free if you have Kindle Unlimited.

The UK Amazon link if you wish to check it out is:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CPX9Q4JJ

USA Amazon Link is:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CPX9Q4JJ

Below is also a link to the Twitter/X channel and a 1 Minute (ish) introduction to the book:
https://twitter.com/The_Film_Freaks/s...

Enjoy The Book.

Rory Hill | 1 comments Hello Everyone, I'm Rory. I originally started writing my just published book back in 2006. It was designed to help me better relate to my girlfriend (at the time) 5- & 7-year-olds.

Life and sickness got in the way. The major jump starter to finish was allowing myself to realize the book didn't have to be perfect and not everyone will like it. That made a huge difference.

I originally started using some of my activities (in the book) with my nieces and nephews over 35 years ago. This is a timeless book, fun and really works.

My target market are those who have or connections to children between the ages of 4 - 10. It's called "I Wasn't Kidding, Now, I Am". I'd love to answer questions and better learn about this group. This is timeless and can be passed down to generations. This is especially important with too many unrelated sources challenging parents' rights and teachings. Take a stand for your family. Family Matters (in every sense).

Shawn Hartje | 1 comments I'm Shawn Hartje. Parenting is kicking my ass. Growing up, I was a pain in the ass to my parents, and so it has come full circle. I wrote a semi-auto-biographical coming of age novel when my kids were tiny, and which now seems prescient. I'm writing a second novel which is also about parenting. They say write what you know, but after 15 years as a parent, I still don't know what I'm doing. It helps to joke, and I want my readers to laugh. Mike Cressy | 1 comments Hello everyone. Does anyone still post here on GoodReads?
Over the last 9 years I've been busy working at Pokemon but now I am back to being a singular citizen.
Since I started as a creative at 22 years old I've created a lot of illustrations for: Movies, large companies, magazines, books, game companies, etc. And now I've also been starting to publish some of my stories that I've jotted down over the years. The first of which became my graphic novel memoir series "Enatai Beach" of 12 chapters. The Eleventh chapter was just released on Amazon and am currently finishing Chapter Twelve, which is the last chapter in the series.
Before starting the next graphic novel, I'm going to be working on several Art Books that will be published later this year. I have many Art Books available on Amazon already.
Now that I'm unemployed I have plenty of time to write, experiment with styles and figure out the future with all this AI taking over everything soon.
Stay healthy, happy and kind.

Used copies are still sold on Amazon, but the re-write has product-specific chapters removed and more case studies added for a more general audience — “ERP Implementation In a Small Business.”

Sherrie Miranda (sherriemiranda) | 37 comments I am Sherrie & I'm working on Book 3 of my series "Shelly's Journeys."
Sherrie Miranda's "Crimes & Impunity in New Orleans" follows the dramatic story of naive, sheltered Shelly going to “The Big Easy” to prepare for El Salvador, but has no idea she will encounter sexism and witness racism as well as illegal activities by government agents.
https://www.amzn.com/dp/B08KMHNNDK
Author, Sherrie Miranda's husband made the trailer for "Crimes & Impunity in New Orleans." He wrote the music too.
https://youtu.be/7_NL-V9KEi4
Review: Shelly’s journey in “the city that care forgot.”Sherrie Miranda’s new novel “Crimes and Impunity in New Orleans” puts the reader into a whirlwind of political protests, abusive police, sexist attitudes towards women, and “good old boys” racism in 1980’s New Orleans. Miranda’s second novel follows Shelly, the young northerner, as she quickly finds out that she “isn’t in Kansas anymore” while encountering a slew of picturesque, colorful characters. Reading her book makes you wonder if justice and respect for blacks, immigrants, and women can be reality in America.

In Book 2, "Secrets & Lies in El Salvador," Shelly goes to El Salvador to photograph Salvadorans in the midst of the civil war there. She becomes the safekeeper of many people's secrets & lies.

Jeff S | 22 comments Well, I have good news and bad news for you:

The good news is that on The Page 1 Challenge podcast, we also don't believe in judging a book by its cover or author.

The bad news is, that we judge a book by its first page! Is that fair? Of course not! Is it fun? We think so!

The Page 1 Challenge is a short-form podcast for book lovers where BEFORE identifying a book, I read the first page (approximately). Can the first page captivate the listener and make them want to read the rest of the book? THAT's the challenge!

I'm always looking for authors to participate. It is free! Just a mutually beneficial arrangement between authors who want to promote their book in a thinking-outside-the-box way, and a guy who likes to make short podcasts.

In the episode notes I include links to your book's Amazon page and your author website. Interested? DM me or message me thru the website: http://ThePage1Challenge.com

Interesting because of the night backdrop and stars, looks like about to enter a world of mystery if I were to pick up and read one of your novels. You seem quite accomplished to have written so many books. My admiration is growing. I will go beyond "interesting" once I've taken a moment to choose which book to read.

The Galactic Island by Parish V Damone

THE GALACTIC ISLAND (TGI) is the fulfillment of a two decades long promise I made to my daughter Brittney during one of our visits in the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola. She was just 14 years old at the time and I was entering my third year of incarceration after being wrongfully convicted and sentenced to life in prison. I asked her, among other things, what kind of books she enjoyed reading and her answer surprised me. Not the part about fantasy being her favorite genre, but the part where she mentioned there weren't any characters who looked like her in the books she read... the year was 2004.

That same afternoon I promised my daughter I would write her an adventurous tale and that the main character on the cover of the book would look exactly like her. Little did I know that it would prove to be one of the most challenging things I would ever set out to do. The extent of my experience as a writer back then mostly involved essays and articles about the need for prison reform. When it came to writing fiction I had no idea where to begin. It took me nearly three months to read an average sized fantasy novel because I kept getting frustrated with trying to figure out all the weird names and terminology the author was using. It seemed beyond ridiculous that an adult would talk that way. For Brittney's sake, I immersed myself in all sorts of fanciful stories about wizards and flying serpents and elves and talking animals until one day, my desire to create a magical world tailored to my daughter's taste for adventure could no longer be contained. Thus, The Galactic Island was born.

TGI is no ordinary book of fantasy. It is a meticulously crafted ‘’treasure map'’ that was twenty years in the making; a unique tale the likes of which the world has never seen. The book features a hieroglyphic chart called the Key of Adwah—the only tool in the entire universe which can decipher the hidden messages within the story. There is also a list of secret clues buried in the text of TGI, clues that unravel a mystery so grand that there is now talk amongst my team of launching a global contest in search of readers who can crack the code and discover the real story the book actually tells. The winners of said contest will be given the option to claim their ''riches'' in one of two ways: gifts and prizes or providing the name of a main character in the next installment of the TGI series and receiving a percentage of the royalties from that particular book. As soon as the contest website becomes available, I will post the link right here so that everyone can join the quest to solve the mystery of TGI. In the meantime, read the synopsis on Amazon and then get ready for one helluva ride! (eBook edition of TGI will be available soon!)
