Christine Skarbek (euculturalissues) | 17 comments Hi, y'all! I am a Midwesterner by birth and upbringing but found a new universe when I studied in the EU (before it was the EU) while in college. Those ten months were my pivot to greater horizons, esp when I met a man who started me on the trail of my namesake, WWII's greatest heroine, Krystyna Skarbek (aka Christine Granville as well as other noms de guerre). I needed her strength and cunning to deal with my 4 children's chronic illnesses, to divorce my derelict husband, fight educational & judicial systems that got in the way of my kids' mental & physical health. Once losing my last American job in the Great Recession (2009/2010), I rebooted my editorial career in -- of all places -- Poland. My whole life is and has been very political and very adventuresome!

Hello, everyone. My name is Deborah Hillier, and I was actually born in Hollywood but grew up in a small residential area near Hidden Hills before it became a Kardashian joke. It was an idyllic life until my eccentric father had a midlife crisis... but that's a story for another time. :~)

Alyssa Cassarino | 4 comments Hi, I'm Alyssa. I wrote and published a poetry book recently called Dragon Fruit.

Readers say “this collection of poems is a must read for anyone that’s ever had a relationship; platonic or romantic. It just hits on a different level.”

Themes of addiction, depression, self care, and relationships are strung using evocative phrases.

Tanya Chambers | 32 comments Hi I'm Tanya Chambers. I wrote and published a poetry book recently. My latest release is titled THE JAMAICAN: SOULS IN THE DARKNESS. It's a novella on Amazon for $0.99. I also have a memoir titled YARDI LIVING and another fiction novel titled ALIENS IN MY YARD: WHEN SOULS COME TO EARTH.

There is a stop gap on ALIENS IN MY YARD because of some of the contents that's been written. The ebook is currently selling for $2.99 on Amazon.

For me, writing is my escape. Even when I am not writing I am constantly thinking of writing. Hopefully when things get better, I will have the opportunity to constantly write instead of thinking of writing.

Amber Faucher | 1 comments Hello to everyone! My name is Amber Faucher and I love writing. I have three published novels on KDP:

1) a romantic comedy "Seeing Colour" : Optician Evie Matthew's meticulous plans quickly unravel as she ends her first day abroad drowning at the bottom of a mojito and in the arms of an unexpected encounter.

2) a paranormal thriller "Sheltered Waters" : Amelia Ross discovers more than she wanted to know about the afterlife when she discovers the ghost of a teenage girl on the beach in her secluded, government-seeded town.

3) a fantasy "Distorted Prophecy" Book One of the Adanian Chronicles : Dominique discovers that being the Chosen One really sucks when its prophesied she will destroy her father's world rather than save it.

I joined the group to meet some fellow writers and readers get to know the community. I don't read as much as I listen to audio books from any genre whose book cover catches my attention, although I have a special spot in my heart for a little adventure and little fluffy love. I try to leave a review if and when I am most active right here on Goodreads.

It is a pleasure to meet all of you. I hope to get to know you better soon!

If you would like to check out any of my books on KDP follow this link: https://www.amazon.ca/stores/Amber-Fa...

I love reading and writing, but I’m also a big gamer. My novel that is on the way is decidedly Gamelit (but not LitRPG) and will be an amalgam of my two top passions. Here’s hoping it’ll work out.

If you’re a weirdo like me who has a hard fitting into a niche of a niche, let’s come up with our own language and chat in the corner where even the nerds will think we’re not cool enough to join their club.

Hello All,
I am always trying to discover who I am. A career scientist helping in the war against cancer, I constantly travel and explore. My first fiction/ghost mystery novella is based on my real life experiences when studying for my PhD in a remote corner of England. Why would anyone read it? For pure fun and a cozy read I think.

I have been asked to prepare a story board because it'd make a fun cartoon movie, so I'm turning my attention to that.
If anyone has published a detective/historical mystery/spooky but cozy read please let me know. I'm new to this, but would be happy to write reviews. I've received none to date, so my first book may be my last... I'm focusing on writing purely for fun!

I'm a storyteller who loves blending environmental intrigue, technology, and the resilient spirit of my characters. "Aspinon" is my latest adventure, and I'm thrilled to share it with you.

"Aspinon" isn't your typical eco-thriller. It's a pulse-pounding journey with Catherine, the daughter of a scientist, as she fights to protect her father's revolutionary green energy tech. Corporate espionage, a dystopian future, and characters you'll remember.

I'm Jeff Carlson. I've been writing since my teen years.

My novel Over Home, 13 years in the making, is scheduled for release in January 2024.

Over Home is the story of Lucindy, a young woman from rural Kentucky who rises from the abyss of childhood abuse to find true love, and lives her dream of owning a bed-and-breakfast on North Carolina's Outer Banks. Although she is burdened with the emotional baggage from her youth, she abides, and finds one special man who helps her carry it, allowing her to ‘fly with her own wings.’

I have two children and three grandchildren who are now teenagers. My first in a series of mystery novels for young adults teaches creativity and life lessons through examples intertwined throughout the text. The discussion notes, all of which relate to the characters in the story, are drawn from my personal experiences as an inventor and creative thinker. I am hopeful that the young will benefit from what I have come to understand about the creative process.

Tyler Gray (wickedjr89) | 1 comments Hi, my name is Tyler. I'm 34.

I've written some stories as a kid. I've written a lot about my sims over the years coming up with some things on my own and others that the sims and game threw at me and turned them into stories.

Besides stories of my sims i've written several things I never finished as well as one short story I have finished and a novella length fanfiction (both on AO3).

I am currently using the spirit of Nano (not aiming for 50k just aiming to build a consistent writing habit and start taking my writing seriously in the hopes to publish) to start a story. I thought I was going to write some short stories to ease my way into it but i'm a pantser and my brain decided to explode with brainstorming on November 1st and turned it into something that will be longer. Novella length at least.

I am also a reader of course. I read some growing up, starting with R.L. Stine as a kid with Goosebumps and became a really avid reader in 2015.

My favorite genres are horror and nonfiction but I read a bit of pretty much everything. Fantasy, Romance, Science Fiction, Contemporary, Thriller etc.

Steve F | 11 comments I am an author, my Historical Fiction Series has been published on Kindle Direct. The title is Clash of Cultures, the Legend of Henson Wiseman, and the Dakota Chiefs.
I am very interested in history and this series covers a lot of territory. It is set in the 1860s during the Civil War but on the western frontier.
The story follows the life of a family that settled in Northeastern Nebraska and the events that shape their lives in places hundreds of miles away. Namely, in Minnesota, South and North Dakota and Iowa. Even though it is categorized as fiction, it is based on real people and the historical events and characters involved in those events. You will get to know each of them, some intimately others not so much.

D.J. Mathews (djmathews) | 1 comments Vincent wrote: "Please introduce yourself! Do you write books? Do you just enjoy reading them?

Not sure if you are speaking to me directly. I have to admit "my" YA book was nonfiction, "Great American Women in Science and Environment" because, well, perhaps you've heard of first lady astronaut Sally Ride or first woman doctor, Elizabeth Blackwell, but who inspired "them" to become great?
I have to admit I probably read more nonfiction than fiction (including newspapers and magazines). But with a book club I've read some interesting books, like Mary Roach's "Fuzz" and the classic (semi-thriller) "Rebecca," and "Girl in the Blue Coat," WWII related historical fiction. There is just so much out there to choose!
Sincerely, D. J. Mathews, author
