Annapaola Ambrosio | 10 comments Hi everyone, I'm excited to join the Goodreads community and share my first children's book, "Mom, Will I Blossom Like You?", that explores the themes of growth and self-discovery through modernist illustrations.
I'm reaching out to request your support to help my book find its place in the literary market. Reviews and feedback would be immensely valuable on this journey, and I'm happy to provide a PDF copy if someone would like to review it.
Here below the Amazon link to the book:

I'd also like to support the author community with reviews to other books. Thank you!

Debra Schildhouse | 2 comments Hello! I'm an avid reader and author. My second book, "How To Chat With Archangels: Inviting Your Divine Best Friends Into Your Life" just came out last month. I'm brand new to Goodreads, and am trying to understand the nuances of it as well as Twitter. For years I only used Facebook, which was easy for me. At my age (70) promoting my book on social media is quite the challenge! Will I ever get the hang of it? We'll see!

DWNelson | 3 comments Hello,
I'm Doug. I've been writing poetry on and off for the past forty years. In the past seven years, I got the bug and started writing everything I possibly could, over a million words. During that time, I've self published a giant book of poetry, come up with dozens of story starters, reflections, essays, and short stories. All of them untested. (The poetry is around $25 and a cost prohibitive prospect, unless you are a real fanatic of unknown poetry.) All said, my love of writing has had me start three novels, one of which is on the fourth draft and has gone through one professional edit. It's fun.

Jason Bujnoch | 2 comments Hello, everyone.
Jason Bujnoch here, representing Houston, Texas.
I'm a father, a husband and a skilled practitioner of the domestic arts. I'm also a blue-collar stiff, with a full-time-plus, day job.
I read every night until I can't keep my eyes open, and have for many years, so I've got hundreds of books logged in the recesses of my aging, bald cranium.
And sometimes, whenever I can, typically on a weekend, in the wee hours of the morning, I creep to the dining room table in the dark, with a laptop and a cup of coffee, and I write fiction.
It's always slow going because of the amount of time I actually have to spend, plus I'm one of those writers who has to keep rewriting a chapter until it's almost perfect before I can move on.
But I've got one published novel under my belt, and I'm working on a sequel.
My first novel, Rising Dragonfly has solely 5 star reviews on Amazon, but the reviews themselves are pitifully low in number. This is due to my utter lack of marketing knowledge, marketing budget, technical savvy, or spare time. Also, I'm a bit of a hermit and this is probably the most I've ever written about myself in one sitting. So, I'm going to stop now.
Pleasure to meet you all, though. And I look forward to spending more time on this platform and sharing some thoughts and stories with my fellow readers and writers.
Cheers!

Hi Jason,
Hi have a similar situation in that I work part-time and write early mornings and late evenings. I've been writing fiction and on some occasions science fiction. It takes me a long time to finish for similar reasons. I'm a detail person and I make sure what is said in chapter 3 aligns with chapter 20. I do in-depth research to make sure my facts are correct, and then I'm too tired to write.

Michael Chapman | 4 comments Hello Goodreaders,
An old flame recently sent me a travel journal I thought was long-lost. With her blessing, I wrote a no-holds-barred action-adventure story about a young man's rite of passage in the 1970s.
The challenge was to tell the story, not knowing what would happen tomorrow nor adding things learnt since. I reverted to Mick, a young man full of wide-eyed wonder who must overcome physical and emotional obstacles, including moral dilemmas and isolation.
Spurred on following good reviews and sales from Long Lost Love, Diary of a Virgin Sailor; I've just completed the sequel, Long Lost Love: Diary of a Reluctant Romeo. The self-standing books explore the journey of self-discovery, confronting the harsh realities of naivety.
In the spirit of the time, they explore the rebelliousness and fluid sexuality of youth. Their picturesque characters are full of wit, wisdom, and home truths, giving insight into many contemporary issues.

Alice Kanaka | 9 comments Hello everyone!

I'm a voracious reader, recently relocated from Oregon to Texas. And... I have a cat! Haha. Mysteries are my favorite genre, especially British circa 1940, but also modern cozies and anything else that catches my fancy. When I'm not reading, I write - I realize it should be the other way around :D.

I am currently finishing the editing on my 5th book and have begun writing the 6th; mysteries of course!

The second series is meant to be comedic and was inspired by a conversation with my brother about unusual words. Just the series title makes me laugh: Bumfuzzle and Cattywampus; unlikely detectives.

Anyway, glad to meet you all and I'm looking forward to some great discussions about everything literary!

Evelyn Tyler | 1 comments Hello,
I'm new here, and new to publishing (self publishing, ebooks on Kindle) though I've been writing for a long time. Farm raised, retired educator, Steampunk junk maker, and lazy bum, it took me 30 years to finish my first novel (Perfectly Wrong, not yet added to the data base here), and just two months two finish the second and third book of what I had never intended to be a series, Perfectly Right, and Just Perfect, Evelyn Ann Tyler. If romance is your thing, I think mine are pretty darn good - but don't we all!

“The only thing that burns in hell is the part of you that won't let go of your life: your memories, your attachments. They burn them all away, but they're not punishing you, they're freeing your soul. If you're frightened of dying and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. If you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels freeing you from the earth.”

Your group is my first join, and thank you for your efforts.

I am retired from the working world, shift-work and mentally dysfunctional supervisors, and have returned to my passion of writing. As part of the ‘Witch Heart’ series, I have authored my first novel, ‘Royal Souls’, with book two, ‘Dark Fire’, near the editing stage.

As a first-time author, I’m overwhelmed with the response to my giveaway on Goodreads. ‘Royal Souls’, was a tremendous success with over fifty-two hundred requests, and the novel also scored 3.6, lost 0.4 for editing issues, from Indie Readers.

Goodreads is an excellent platform and community, especially for people like myself.

Fergus Deffely | 3 comments Hello Goodreads,

My name is Fergus Deffely and I am an Irish writer of stories, novels and poems. I began writing as a way to connect together some fragments of the fractured the world I found around me. And to ask questions about that world. About its cruelties and mercies. As I wrote, I began to discover more of the possibilities that writing holds. I began to appreciate the responsibility of writing for others, while writing for myself. And I began to remember the thrill of storytelling.

My first novel, The Fix is available on Amazon. I have only recently made it available on eBook. And in an attempt to create some awareness, I am offering the manuscript to Goodreaders as a free download. I am doing this in the hope that people will read my book. And that that they will like it. And that maybe they will tell people about it.

The Fix takes place in a small town in the West of Ireland. It's the story of one man’s unwitting descent into a world of petty-crime, power abused and vanishing trust. You can grab a copy from my website: preciousflaws.wordpress.com/news

Regards,
Fergus
