bravo to the All Blacks on their rugby win! But I had a hard time deciding who, the ABs or their opponents, shed the most blood! Medal ceremony was thrilling and impressive!!! will look for Kiwi books promoted on this and other boards. Good luck.

Best of luck finding an Agent, rarer than hens teeth are the agents that will take on a virgin author, dropping to virtually nil when you self publish! I'm living in hope too! I managed to get one firm in London, Caroline Sheldon agency to at least read my work, but it was still a no go.
I am publishing with Raider, well it was either that or let it gather dust under the stairs. I have just finished my second novel and am preparing to send it off to the publishers and once again crossing every bit I can whilst biting my nails down to the quick for the next 7 weeks.
Welcome to the club!
Hi Sarah,Good luck with that. Never heard of Raider though. I self published because I couldn't find an agent and have found the experience a roller coaster ride. Sales going upand down, reviews good and bad, confusing tax forms etc. But I have to admit having sold a few books now and received a few royalty checks, I think it was the right decision. I may not be rich, though at least my checks are large enough to go on the mortgage, but had I kept waiting and waiting and waiting for an agent, I'd still be nowhere.
Deedee, RM, nice to meet you. And Debs feel free to pick away at my brains, though they might be lacking in meat!
Cheers.

Hi Ken! I'm DeeDee, welcome to the group! What sort of books do you like to read? I love adventure romance.
D.d. wrote: Hi Ken! I'm DeeDee, welcome to the group! What sort of books do you like to read? I love adventure romance. Hi D.d.! Normally I've read mostly non-fiction (psychology, sociology types, and anything that catches my eye ;), but I'm trying to get more into both fiction/non-fiction.. and hoping to find some for both genres that I can really enjoy and get into.. all in all pretty open especially fiction for sub-genres to try out :) Thanks for the warm welcome as well.

Good Morning (It's morning for me anyway!). My name is Michael and I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest (Washington State). I just joined this group as well as Goodreads. I am both a lover of books as well as an author and my debut novel just launched from Harbourlight Books: Shadows: Book of Aleth, Part OneI love fantasy (spec. fiction) and those stories with a strong redemptive theme. I appreciate allegorical stories - stories that have a point and purpose.
Not sure what else to say as I'm just learning my way around, but thanks for having me! God bless. :)
D.d. wrote: "Hi Michael! I'm DeeDee, nice to meet you!"Hi Dee Dee, Thanks! :) It's nice to find like-minded people.
I am new to Goodreads. I just wanted to take this time to introduce myself. I am a fantasy author, my first novel is available on Amazon and my second novel, will be released in January.

I would especially love some feedback on my character interview, if it gives you a good idea of the novel.
I look forward to learning the ropes here at Goodreads!.
Hi BJ,Love your cover. I tried to do a dragon cover and ended up photoscaping a raptor skull, but I think it came out well.

Wish I could actually draw though.
Cheers.
Vincent wrote: "Please introduce yourself! Do you write books? Do you just enjoy reading them?Let us know a little bit more about who you are:"
Thanks Paul. I'm Patricia Cohen. I write about culture, ideas and the arts for the New York Times and my first book, "In Our Prime: The Invention of Middle Age," published by Scribner is coming out in January. It is a social and cultural history of middle age, tracing how the idea of middle age developed in American culture starting in the late 19th century through to the present. I also look at the latest research about middle age as well as how it is depicted in our movies, TV, advertising and more. After years of reading only for my research, I'm now devouring good fiction and looking for recommendations.
Hi Vincent. My memoir of my first year in veterinary practice in NE Montana is getting some nice reviews on Amazon. Check out the trailer for it:

Although I'm an indie I don't know if I can help!
Marketing is HARD!
I have a blog and I'm a member of several goodreads groups.......but I'm still pretty lost!
But I'd love to help if I can.
:) Maybe its not that hard, Dee Dee. Your sincerity made me smile, so I just looked up your book on Amazon and bought it. Your marketing plan to be nice to folks worked today and you're 33 cents richer. Yay! Well, .20 GPS.

Hello everyone! My name is Gerria, but I use my pen name initials quite a bit so you will probably see me posting as G.E. mostly. Book one is already available and I'm currently editing book two. You can also find me on Facebook, Twitter and I have a blog that streams here on Goodreads. I really like meeting other writers and making new connections with creative people in general so I'm hoping to use my goodreads account to do more of that! Feel free to connect with me on any of the other social media sites. My twitter handle: @writermom2011 and my FB page: www.facebook.com/gejohnsonfans.
