Hi Michael,
If possible, have two edits to catch any typos. Then just take a deep breath...and enjoy the excitement. Congrats!

Hello, everyone! I'm Dionne, a Christian fiction author who sometimes likes to venture to the nonfiction side of writing. I published my first book, Do Unto Others, in 2013. It is a middle grade novel for 7-12 year old girls. My newest book is Lens On Life, which was published last year. Other than writing, I also enjoy reading. I have many books I am working on right now, as I always work on multiple projects at one time. I haven't read in awhile, but am looking forward to starting a new book soon. Feel free to respond!

Make your book the best it can be, and then let it loose to find its way in the world. Do what you can to promote your book, but try not to stress over it. The most important thing is to bask in the glow of having completed a book, rather than focussing on sales figures. While doing this, start working on your next book.

Jennifer Rainey (jennifer_rainey) | 65 comments Hi, everyone! I guess I'm sort of re-introducing myself! My name is Jennifer Rainey, and I used to hang out on Goodreads all the time about three-four years ago when I was independently publishing my work (paranormal fiction). I recently started up again, and I'm working on my first new novel in four years right now!

It's been rough trying to get back in the swing of things concerning my author presence online, but I remember loving this group, so it's great to be back! :)

Allen from eB Format (ebformat) | 2 comments Hi I'm Allen,

I run eB Format and we do eBook conversions. I'll leave it at that so as not to clog up the thread with a self-promo.

Unfortunately I've not gotten a chance to read many books lately, other than textbooks, as work and my recent decision to return to school cuts into my reading time. When I do get a chance to read I prefer fiction books along the lines of mysteries/thrillers. It's not often I read a book more than once, but the one book I've read multiple times is Where the Red Fern Grows. Perhaps it's childhood memories that makes me enjoy reading that one over again.

Thomas Gallo | 10 comments Good Morning Fellow Good-Readers!

Thanks for the warm welcome to your group!

I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you, and hopefully, get a little feedback ;)

My name is Thomas Gallo and I aim not only to entertain, but also to inspire creativity and the thirst for fun and unique learning experiences.

This is my passion. It has always been my goal – through whatever small ways I could – to make the world a better place for our children and to help them in developing crucial skills such as team-building, critical-thinking/decision-making, creativity and other vital social-skills. All of this while having the time of their lives through the art of dynamic game-play and interactive storytelling.

My goal as an author is not just to write a good book, but more so to provide the young reader with a one-of-a-kind experience; incorporating excitement, adventure and enrichment.

I have recently started a new YA series titled, "How I Spent My Summer Vacation," and am beyond excited for the second in the series, which is set to launch on June 11th, 2016!

I don't know how many of you are familiar with the, "Choose-Your-Own-Destiny," writing style, but this book delivers interactivity, adventure, challenges to be overcome, a stellar storyline, and puts you right in the center of an out-of-this-world-experience!

I have posted a free sample chapter along with book details and a Book Trailer, for anyone interested in taking a look! Click below and let me know what you think!

As always, thank you so much for taking the time to review!

Thomas Gallo | 10 comments Jordan James

Just read "72 Versions of Simon." Great Work! I wrote the following review and gave you 5 stars on Amazon...

"'72 Versions of Simon,' is most definitely a note-worthy read! The author possesses a keen grasp of the universe(s) he has created and the characters who dwell within them. That being said, it is only natural that every single one of his words paints a wonderfully descriptive image, conveying to us that very same understanding.

Uniquely stylized with personality and quality; combining the elements of realism, science-fiction, thriller, and a touch of horror with an M. Night Shyamalan style twist, the author takes you on a voyeuristic journey to other realities.

Bravo!!"

Eva Pasco (evapasco) | 73 comments Hi!

Midlife restlessness stirred my dormant flare for writing. My fragrance addiction is the driving force behind my debut novel, 'Underlying Notes,' featured here at Goodreads. And, it garnered me an unsolicited interview and notable mention in TIME - March 17, 2008 print issue: "Scents and Sentsitivity."

"Eva Pasco, who loosely based her novel 'Underlying Notes' on her fragrance addiction, has boxes and trunks and specially made cabinets all over her house for her perfume collection. She calls herself a "fragrance floozy," but she's no eccentric kook." (Jeninne Lee-St. John)

Old habits die hard! These days my fragrance of choice is 'Gardenia' by Elizabeth Taylor--subject to change, of course, dependent upon my whim.

I'm anxiously awaiting the electronic galley proof of my second novel in production, 'An Enlightening Quiche':

An heirloom quiche recipe and baking rivalry between two bosom buddies redresses erroneous assumptions, misdeeds, unleashed secrets, and malicious intent.

Eva

Aditi Agarwal | 44 comments Hello All - My name is Aditi Agarwal and I recently published a book What is Scrum?. This book aims to provide a simplified, easy to understand overview of the widely popular software development process framework called Scrum. The core concept behind the book is to familiarize young readers with the scrum process and its associated terminology, used across the corporations to manage their product development.

The book is now available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other sites. Publisher: Xlibris

I plan to write more books to introduce other corporate processes / concepts / tools / technologies to students and other readers.

I live in Phoenix, AZ with my husband and my son.

I also read anything I can get my grubby hands on. I have been known to grab a thesaurus or dictionary and sit for hours. Though I might not be able to recall a portion of what was read. Old age, kids rotting my brain and all that.

I am looking forward to reading most of the books that have been listed here.

George Paul | 1 comments Hello everyone. My name is George and I'm a book alcoholic, lol. I love to read all kinds of books, but have a definite infinity for mystery and non-fiction. I also like to write like to write children's books because my kids tell me my stories are the best. I mean what else would they say...hahaha. Here is how it all started: I guess the best place would be around 2nd or 3rd grade. Who remembers those monthly book club newsletters the teacher would hand out for Scholastic Books? I'm sure many of you do, considering what site this is. So, this was me. I would run home from school the day the newsletter came out, and the minute I got home I would sit down with my Mom and go over what books to order. Of course the total would be around $50+ because I wanted just about everything. My mother would say NO, but eventually we would get the order down to a more reasonable $10. The very next day I would be the first to hand in my order form to the teacher. Then I would WAIT. WAIT. And WAIT some more. Seemed liked forever, but when my books would arrive a few weeks later, the teacher would have that unmistakably marked box out & would hand me my books. FOR ME, IT WAS LIKE CHRISTMAS DAY!
Thanks All. Reach out to me as a friend if you like. I will leave you all with a quote of mine:
“Authors have a very special talent writing one word at a time to create sentences, paragraphs, pages & finally a story to be shared by all readers young and old.”
― George Paul

Sean Catt | 3 comments Hi there,
I'm Sean Catt and I’m a writer based in the South East of England.
My main passions are writing paranormal & anthropomorphic fiction. Then late at night while the dust bunnies under my bed are busy sharpening their fangs, I dim the lights and write horror and other short story creepiness.
I'm currently writing the sequel to my first shapeshifter novel Between States and putting the finishing touches to an anthro novel.
During daylight hours I freelance as a Technical Author writing machinery manuals and the like for big lumps of production equipment.
Shameless plug time: So if you work for a company that needs manuals send me a message. And yes I will happily relocate to the US.
I’m a member of the British Fantasy Society, and very pleased to be the Vice Chair for the New Eastbourne Writers group and to have been one of the Festival Directors for the 2015 Eastbourne Book Festival.
When I find time I also write the odd newspaper column.
So that’s me, nothing really exciting I’m afraid. I don’t wear my underpants on the outside of my tights, throw webs or guard the galaxy. I write about those things buried in the deeper recesses of my mind, and sometimes it worries me a little what’s lurking in there…

Ha! Just kidding, I’m really very normal… Honest

Crea S. Ward (creasward) | 8 comments Hello everyone! My name is Crea, lover of dogs, fish, and the written word. I've been writing for as long as I can remember, and obsessing over writing for just as long. I also have a tendency to pick up a book and set it down finished a twelve hours later only to realize I never ate, drank, or did anything else I should have (much to my dog's chagrin). My writing ends towards epic fantasy and sci-fi, but sometimes I can't stay away from paranormal. Already excited to try my first review session!

Carol Preston (carolap) | 29 comments Hi all. I'm Carol, a Goodreads Author and reader. I'm wondering how many readers choose from Goodreads authors for new reading, or do you stick to the authors you know and love? For me it's tempting to stick to authors I know, but I regularly try out new authors, especially Aussie authors. I know from personal experience how encouraging it is when new readers give your work a go.

message 11998: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 2898 comments Welcome to the group, Carol!

I try out new authors as well. For me it depends on whether they write in a genre I enjoy, and their book catches my attention, rather than whether I know the author or not. Although, I will admit that I'll be in more hurry to read new releases by authors I know, and make reading those more of a priority than new to me authors. The only exception is if I've been given the new author's book in exchange for a review... Review books are always made priorities.
