Hi to everyone, I'm Johnno and like reading fantasy, science fiction, and about real life.
So, you know I would write in all those genres, too.
I put a 2,000 word story on my blog I call Seth the Dreamer. I had it on Tumblr and people liked it there. So stop and read it if you want, and follow me, too.
If you have a good book in what I like I'd love to see it, too.
Thanks, Johnno

I'm video blogging my book launch journey and showing the behind the scenes realness of being an indie author writing and promoting. Mailing list is here to get free giveaways, get book launch journey episodes directly to your inbox. http://eepurl.com/by3VrP would love to meet new indie authors and expose them to my mailing list by giving away one of your already free ebooks in exchange for social promo the week of my book launch in June.
Hello, I'm Diana Stout from Michigan. I've just published my newest book, Grendel's Mother, and reprinted my first romance, which is now called Determined Hearts. Grendel's Mother, while a YA will appeal to adults, as well. It's a stand-alone book, meaning you don't have to have read Beowulf to understand it, and it adds a layer of interest to those who have read Beowulf. I designed and wrote the book so that it would cross genres and audiences.I'm writing full-time again. I was a former English professor, who became an academic late in life and fully enjoyed it, but I enjoy writing full time even more.
My writing experience crosses genres, different media, and includes various awards. I love helping others become better writers as much as I enjoy the writing itself.
Currently, I'm working on 2 screenplays and a thriller, which more than likely will become a novel rather than a screenplay.
Hello,My name is Kipp Martines, I live in Maine (United States) and I am a new Author. I completed writing my first Sci-fi novel (81,000 pages) last month. I have two more books in outline form so I can develop a trilogy. I'm very new to this entire process. I have a couple friends reading my first draft, but I know I need Beta readers as the next step. Not sure how to go about that process, which is why I joined this group. I created a website for my book series www.digitalsouls.net Which I have been attempting to build a following. Any suggestions and help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Good evening one and all,I'm a London based author and I predominantly write horror fiction. I was fortunate enough to have my first novel published almost a year ago, and since then I've been working on a sequel (naturally), as well as a short fantasy piece and another novel that surprises me on a daily basis! Like Kipp and others above on this thread, I'm trying to build a following, and maintain a website that details a bit more about my work: www.dmwoon.wordpress.com
I'm currently promoting a Thunderclap for the anniversary of my book Tales Of The Bastard Drunk, and would appreciate any help in spreading the word! http://thndr.me/ttXBgB
Thanks for your time, and I welcome any suggestions that anyone may have; hopefully, I'll also be of use to others, so feel free to contact me!
Thanks!I'll admit, I haven't logged in to Goodreads as often as I could have in the past, but I will try to be as active as possible from now on...
I can't find the appropriate place to post this so I'll post it here. First let me say I'm not interested in using this group to promote my books. I'm an author, reaching out to anyone who's willing to acknowledge that most Goodreads groups are hostile toward authors. I would spend my time elsewhere if anyone can recommend another good online forum for READERS who are willing to tolerate an author who is also an avid reader in their midst. I would particularly like to discuss the adult fantasy genre without getting in trouble by making a reference to my work as part of the discussion. I'm not talking about self-promotion. I know how evil that is! Just sometimes I find it impossible to be a part of a discussion without getting in trouble if the discussion touches on topics close to areas where I have some expertise because of the research I do for my books.

Hello! I'm an indie author, still trying to find ways to reach readers. My book, Playing At Love, was released at the end of October last year and I've received a small but passionate response. I'd love to reach a wider audience.
http://www.amazon.com/Playing-At-Love...
About me: I'm a wife, mama, and writer! I work full-time while my husband stays home with our girls. His infinite patience extends to allowing me to find time to follow my passion of writing. I *almost* can't remember a time when I wasn't writing. In middle school, I'd spread out on the living room floor, writing by hand into a three-ring binder. In high school, I had my (admittedly cliché-ridden) short story published as the featured story in the literary magazine. College and life ensued and I'm back to focusing on writing.
Playing At Love is the first in a planned series. The Rogue Series Novels focus on the relationship dynamics of an established Irish rock band (no, not that one!). I'm a big music lover and have always noticed the way long-standing bands have relationships with each other that are something like a marriage. So, I wondered, what would happen if one of those band members ended up marrying the wrong person. How would that "outsider" change things for the group? Well, Playing At Love didn't exactly follow this path as once I started writing the characters took things in their own directions.
The follow-up in the series, Tangled Up In You, will be published late summer 2016.

Lol, yeah, look what happened when John married Yoko and Paul married Linda. I think the outsider spouses got jealous of the tight inner bonds of the Beatles group. I've been in bands myself and my boyfriends were always jealous of the time I spent practicing and just hanging out with the band.

It's definitely an area that is ripe for material! Keith and Mick sure have an intense relationship (not to mention swapping of lovers). Many other examples out there, including your own experience!
I'm finding out to just avoid saying "author" or "i wrote" on any forum that isn't for authors only.I found the same thing out on wattpad. Even though it is supposed to be for writers the moment I say "published," "ebook" etc. they act like you brought a skunk into the room.

I'm known on all the groups I'm a member of here on Goodreads as both an author and a reader, and have always been permitted to contribute to discussions in either capacity. Yes, I have threads promoting my books on them all. But whenever I contribute to a discussion - regardless of whether or not my books are mentioned, and whether or not the topic is in an area in which I have a large amount of knowledge - my opinions are generally at least considered. At any rate, I've never experienced any hostility for expressing them, nor for mentioning my books just because it's an appropriate moment to do so. I've even made some friends via some of the groups.

Words are the best things ever. As Writers, Editors, and Readers we can play with words, change them to suit our needs, and bring such pleasure to readers.I am a trained editor, mostly developmental and copy, and "beta reader;" I love every minute of my time with manuscript or book.
I most enjoy reading nonfiction, memoir, literary mystery and thriller fiction. I am told I have a keen sense of story and can definitely help writers to bring out the best! Please see my website for more info: http://zetterbergediting.com
Best always,
Polly
Hello there!I'll be honest...I've been a member of this group for a while, but I don't remember if I ever introduced myself. So, here we go!
My name is Trinity...I go by Trinity. I write under Trinity.
I'm married, 5 kids (6 if you include the hubster) and I work in the IT field. I have a cat that I'm convinced is continuously plotting nefarious misdeeds and I think I'm at the top of his list. So, if I suddenly disappear, know that it was probably the feline.
I released my first book, Pivotal Moments, back in January with the help of Limitless Publishing. It's done fairly well on Amazon and I'm quite proud of it, even if I'm still in a state of disbelief and shock. I'm currently working on its sequel...while sitting in a corner, paralyzed with performance anxiety.
I was born in Florida, raised in Turkey and Japan, ended up in the DC metro area.
..and I think that pretty much sums me up!
I look forward to meeting you all!

Hey!My name is Gissel Brito and I'm a newbie in the author arena. I began writing my first sci-fi book 'The Universe Between Us' last year and finally, after partially giving up on querying literary agents, decided to self-publish.
