Johnny Moscato (johnnymoscato) Hi. My name is Johnny Moscato and I'm a write-aholic. I haven't written anything since my first book The Project which released a couple weeks ago. But it's been tough. I tell you, I feel like I might write again any moment. I've been reading to try to fight the urge to write but it only makes me want to write all the more. I toss and turn all night unable to sleep with many stories bouncing around in my head. Sometimes I think maybe I could write just a chapter or two, but I know it'll just suck me back into that life. I know it's a long road to recovery. I'm just taking it one step at a time.

We're here for you, and will understand if you fall off the wagon and find yourself writing again. After all, the urge to write is a very difficult one to ignore.

Hi! I'm Aurelius, and everyone calls me either Aurrie or Rebel Noodle. I am a reader-storywriter-poet combo deal and I love dystopian novels with a burning passion.
My favorite series is the sci-fi Lorien Legacies series by Pittacus Lore, which is the best phenomenon the world has ever encountered and deserves so much more recognition. My favorite color's purple!

I'm kind if a silly noodle type online, but if you read my poems you'll know I have a lot of quiet thoughts that bloom into symphonies. I'll add anyone who wants to be friends, and I already enjoy being in this group! ♡ :D

Christopher Tiller | 2 comments Thank you, Vincent for letting me join Goodreads. My name’s Christopher Tiller and I have recently uploaded my novel, Running Through Still Waters, on Amazon and now the task of trying to get it noticed begins. Writing is something I love, and with all the re-writing and editing which can be time consuming, frustrating, and tiring, I would gladly have this than the self promotion I now have to deal with.
I would be more than grateful if someone here can guide me in putting my book on here so it may get reviews. Also, any advice in getting it noticed would be very much appreciated.

Elliott Alhadeff (goodreadscomelliott) | 4 comments Who Is Clarence McKinsey? Part 1 (The McKinsey Saga #1) by Elliott Alhadeff Elliott Alhadeff

Hi! I'm Elliott Alhadeff. I've recently written and posted my novel "Who Is Clarence McKinsey?"
As you know, reviews are very important to help readers discover new authors and books, so I'm looking for readers interested in receiving a free copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review to be posted on both Goodreads and Amazon.com. Here's what the book is about:

South Central Los Angeles, 1960. Twelve-year-old Clarence McKinsey is imprisoned in the black ghetto with his drug-addicted prostitute mother and his infant sister. His life is a struggle to overcome the treachery of his mother and the threats of the local gangs, while caring for his sister and surviving day-to-day in a culture of poverty, ignorance, and violence.

Then the Geffens, an old Jewish couple--themselves seeking some meaning to their lives--find Clarence scrounging for food and offer him an escape. But now, both their worlds collide.

Just when Clarence thinks his struggles are ending, he finds they’ve only just begun.

Clarence is plunged into a new, unfamiliar battleground--the world of white society. What is expected of him? What rights does he have? What does he have to do to keep from going back to the ghetto?

As Clarence finds the answers, he loses his fears and re-creates himself. But he must still overcome the hurdles erected by those who see him as black, and nothing else. Only when Clarence embraces how he survived the savagery of life in the ghetto does he come to realize his power to conquer what lies ahead.

If you're interested in reading and reviewing the book, please reply to this post or message me with your email address and let me know which ebook format you need (.mobi, .epub, or .pdf). If
possible, I'd like the reviews to be posted by April 30th.

If you enjoy Part 1 of Clarence's story, Part 2 is also available for review.

You can find out more about me and my books at http://www.whoisclarencemckinsey.com.

Thanks for your help! :)
Elliott

I signed up for Goodreads for our book on pet loss, Taking Care of Little Snoogie, but I am also interested in trauma and am working on a book on that topic. I am a psychologist and there are not enough resources for men and survivorship.

You can do a search on the book by title. When the page comes up with the book you should see a green box to the right that says, "Want to Read". Just click that and you should be good to go.

I'm glad to hear you are interested. You are right--there are far too few books on the subject, although that has changed for the better in the last five to ten years.

Yours,

Callen

message 11825: by Joanne (new)

Joanne Rolston Hi everyone, I'm Joanne from New Zealand.
I like reading but I have to make time for it while working in my own business. I've been reading books by other Indie authors which I consider a privilege because there is so much talent out there.
I've written my own book, "The Kingdom, Here Be Dragons, Here Be Dreams."
It's going to be a challenge to market - being in a unique genre, with a built in bias against the main character (God) and a zero marketing budget! Never mind, I love a challenge.
I'd love people outside the Christian faith to read it. It is a good read, from the reviews my one-of-a-kind book has been getting.
My favourite books on my shelf at home are Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. I was really lucky that the films were produced in NZ and I've been able to visit some of the film locations.
Nice to meet you and I'm looking forward to making some friends on Goodreads.

Ok. Thanks. I will locate it later today. I will "like" it from my personal page Peggy Sue Brooke, since it is not about animals. If you are an animal lover and care to "like" our page, that would be appreciated. It is Taking Care of Little Snoogie. Also, I am assuming/hoping that I can find other books on male survivorship using your book as a starting point. I have a patient who would be helped by knowing via this avenue that unfortunately he is not alone.

Jemima Pett Hi there,

I'm Jemima Pett, and I got invited to this group years ago but... well, you know, writing books, promoting them, reading others, blogging, and moderating the Great Middle Grade Reads Goodreads group... and time's too short, isn't it?

So I've now got 10 books to talk about, plus three more as WIPs.

My blog is at jemimapett.com and it feeds onto Goodreads. There's a flash fiction and a book review each week, plus of course news of what I'm up to, and general thoughts and activities.

I live in Norfolk, UK, with my four guinea pigs - somewhere else you may find it says any number up to seven. It all feeds into my writing: aliens with lives much longer than the humans; guinea pigs living in a world without any humans, but where they live in castles and develop flying machines... Oh, the inspiration is endless!

Happy to meet you all and talk about what we like best - books!

A.C. Salter (httpwwwamazoncoukdpb01bqmjjys) Hello everyone

I am so new to this that if I was a chicken I would still be inside my cosy egg.

I'm an ex British soldier (sniper) who is now currently driving trucks while writing at every opportunity. While I have a military background my passion is fantasy.

It has taken me over 2 years to write my debut book, Eversong, book 1 in a YA dark fantasy trilogy.

I began by scribbling on paper, then when I obtained a smartphone (Blackberry - AGGGHHHH!) I emailed myself and saved the work. Then when my wife bought me a laptop I stepped up a gear.

Eversong is now published on Kindle and book 2, Shadojak will hopefully be out in June.

If anybody has tips for me on how to get my book out there, I would really appreciate any help. And if anyone has questions for me, please ask.

Thank you for taking the time to read this

Adrian

I am the Author of two books 'Hope for the future' and 'They came to help us' both are fiction. the first if slightly Christian and the second is a sci-fi clean read. both are suitable for YA.
My WIP is my Mothers Autobiography, I feel people would enjoy reading about this because she had to raise a large Family alone. 'It will be called 'Candles on west parade' I will self publish my new book to enable me to have more control.

A.C. Salter (httpwwwamazoncoukdpb01bqmjjys) Hello everyone
I'm so new to this that if I was a chicken I would be still inside my cosy egg.

Until a few years ago I was a sniper in the British army, now I live in the Cotwolds with my loving wife, four children and 3 pugs. I truck for a living while writing in my spare time.

I published my debut book, 'Eversong' - book 1 in a YA dark fantasy trilogy, last month. The trilogy is called the 'The daughter of Chaos' and can be found on Amazon. The second book 'Shadojak' is flowing well and the first draft should be finished soon.

I like all genre's and like reading anything with an exciting story with believable characters - I'm not a genre snob.

Hopefully i'll get the chance to 'bandy' words with a few of you while trying to get to grips with being an Indie author.

All the best

Adrian
