My debut book
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... on Amazon shortly.

I was longlisted for The 2015 Shelagh Delaney Prize and have a short story published in the competitions anthology.

My desk and my style of writing have one thing in common,
both wobble from side to side.
And both never stay too long in the same place.

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 2898 comments Welcome to the group, R.B.N, Kipp, and Ian!

Ian: If there's more than one author with an identical name, Goodreads adds extra spaces between the first and last names so as to seporate the different authors' books and profiles from each other, and - in theory - avoid confusion.

Andy Crossfield | 6 comments Hi everyone! Thanks so much for letting me join! I'm a longtime reader turned struggling author- and it looks like I have lots of company! I wanted to write a science fiction book that was plausible and that held out the hope of a brighter future, so I wrote a book about a cure for crime.
I like twists and surprises so I wrote a fast paced story of a scientist who has vibrant violet eyes, and her struggle to bring her discovery to a world worth saving.
I'd be honored if you check it out. I look forward to discussing interesting ideas here! http://www.amazon.com/Premise-Novel-S...

Doug Oudin | 169 comments Hi everyone,
I started writing five years ago, after retiring as harbormaster on Catalina Island. My two books now in print (and on E-Book), are; 'Between Two Harbors, Reflections of a Catalina Island Harbormaster', a memoir of my 32 years on Catalina,
and 'Five Weeks to Jamaica', a work of fiction telling the tale of four young friends that purchase passage on an ill-fated luxury yacht bound for Jamaica. Their journey turns into much more than they could have imagined!

Jason Rosette (jasonrosette) | 2 comments Hello Group -

I'm a writer-director, primarily for movies and media, but have also been writing for a long time as well...my print writing has just had to take a back seat to motion media until now (due to time constraints for the past half decade or so)

But at long last, I'm publishing a backlog of books and written content and am stretching my feelers into this area. My two recent (new) books include: '10,000 Miles to Go: An American Filmmaking Odyssey' http://www.amazon.com/10-000-Miles-Go..., which is the story of the making my first no-budget, book-oriented documentary, 'BookWars' (Terrific - LA Times), and another fiction title called 'Final Countdown' http://www.amazon.com/FINAL-COUNTDOWN..., which is a dark comedy about two traveling salesmen in the Southwest who run afoul of the law when their counterfeit products go haywire - leading to murder and mayhem :)

Kindly check them out and feel free to review and comment, and I will check out some of the work here as well!

Anyway, glad to be here, and will be orbiting around more frequently as time permits.

All the Best,

Jason Rosette / www.jasonrosette.com

When it comes to reading, I enjoy learning new skills by fitting in a few pages of nonfiction in the morning and decompressing with fiction at night. I love my fantasy! Looking forward to meeting some like minded readers and writers.

Paul Korhonen (korky) Hi everyone -

I'm retired and now have more time for a life long interest in writing. I started off writing some short fiction stories and recently won a flash fiction competition!

However, my first self published effort, is a personal story. It has been very theraputic writing it and putting it together. This has certainly spurred me on to complete some other writing projects that I have started. The whole self publishing route has certainly been a great learning experience.

Hoping to learn a lot from these forums!

Kelly Horton | 1 comments Hi, my name is Kelly Horton, I am currently writing and illustrating children's books, I am also working on a novel for older children in early teens. I have two books available to buy on Amazon as Ebooks. Iv found the children's illustrated book section has been very hard to try and get published on hard back, and have decided to self publish through Amazon. Iv added the links to my books here, and feedback, advice or reviews would be appreciated.

Bethany Ebert (heart77) | 14 comments Hello, everybody! My name is Bethany Ebert and I'm from the United States. I've been reading my whole life. My favorite writers are Manna Francis, Francesca Lia Block, Sylvia Plath, Jane Austen, Jeffrey Eugenides, Vladimir Nabokov, Pablo Neruda, William Shakespeare, and several others I've probably forgotten. I'm a writer and have opted to self-publish, in order to maintain creative control of my book covers. Besides writing I also love art, so book cover design is one of my favorite parts of being a writer.

My work can be found on eBook form on Smashwords, completely free of charge. Please feel free to leave a review there, or here on Goodreads. Thank you.

Loretta (lorettalivingstone) | 134 comments Hi everyone,
I have no idea whether I already introduced myself ages ago or not, lol. There are too many pages to scroll back over.
When I first joined GR, I got overenthusiastic and joined way too many groups, but I have M.E. and I also write (my first piece of historical fiction, Out of Time, has just been short listed for the 2016 HNS Indie Award) so I struggle to be very active here. However, I do like to stop by and read the posts from time to time, so I thought I would just drop in (again?) and say hello.
My favourite genres to read are historical fiction - preferably medieval, and specifically twelfth or thirteenth century, and time travel. If the two collide, so much the better.
I'm a Brit, living in the Chiltern Hills, which is a lovely part of the country. Where do you all hail from?
Cheers. Catch you all again later.

Callen Harty | 9 comments I can't remember if I introduced myself on these pages back when I first signed up for Goodreads. My name is Callen Harty. I grew up in Shullsburg, Wisconsin and now live in Monona, Wisconsin with my life partner, Brian, and several pets. We will be celebrating 25 years together this June by getting married.

I have had poems, essays, and articles appear in numerous publications going back to 1982, have had two dozen plays produced (and some award-winning monologues), and recently released my second book.

My first book was My Queer Life, a compilation of more than 30 years of writing (essays, poems, speeches, journal notes, etc.) on living an authentic life as a gay man. The second is Empty Playground: A Survivor's Story, a memoir about surviving childhood sex abuse. I am currently working on a novel and a book of essays.

My website is www.callenharty.com. I have author pages on Goodreads, Amazon, and on Facebook and I am a member of the Wisconsin Writers Association and the Council for Wisconsin Writers.

Caroline | 6 comments Hi Victoria!

My name is Kim Troike and I use a pen name Caroline Clemens. Clemens is my maiden name and I always thought if I ever wrote a book I would use that, so I did.

Thanks for the welcome! I love Goodreads because it's so friendly and has so many pathways to venture upon.

I sold 278 books in February and that was quite an accomplishment. I'm working on a Historical fiction and want to finish it up. I've done the self-publishing and that's a hard road. Maybe that's how it will always be. My Goodreads site has all my info. Have a look.

Good luck to all you authors.

Kim

I am a photographer specialising in fine art and portraiture, and I also photograph or licence my photographs for book covers.

When it comes to genres, I'm primarily interested in YA, fantasy, sci-fi/paranormal, dystopian and historical fiction.

I have been on Goodreads for a couple of years now, but I am now much more active on here than I used to be and am really enjoying getting involved in the community here so far! Feel free to add me :)
