Introduce Yourself!
Hello everyone, My name is Jessica and I am launching my first book, "The Pendant Saga: Picaroons and Pembertons" this Sunday!
I am very excited. I am working on the sequel now, hoping it will be available this time next year.
I am a mother, teacher and artist. I went to school for my MFA in Painting and show mostly in Denver. I have always loved to write but I never could take myself seriously enough. Identity as an author is hard! That being said, I am excited to be here and looking to connect with other authors.
I hope you all had a fabulous New Year!
Good evening, gents! I am Justin Chandler, a senior at Appalachian State University and as of this past December, an aspiring novelist. I recently self-published a Young Adult Sci-Fi novel called "The Guide.""The Guide" depicts a rebellious high school freshman named Nicholas Forsythe who is given a mentor figure (known in canon as a guide) by his parents to curb his attitude and help him get on the right path towards college. What he and the other students in the program do no realize is that their guides know them quite well: they are their future counterparts sent back to improve the standards of the future timeline. Despite this, Nick and his guide Garron work through the guiding process, but when a familiar face threatens to expose the program to the other students and disrupt the entire course of history, it's up to the two to not only save their lives, but also the fate of the future.
Outside of reading, I enjoy hiking, binge-watching shows on Netflix (currently on Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) and practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
If you are curious about "The Guide," please visit the link below to see about getting a copy (ebooks are now just .99 cents) or go to my author page to receive an excerpt. And happy readings, guys!

Hello Everyone,I am an editor with years of experience and degrees in the literary field. I am also an author, but have found that I enjoy helping others polish and perfect work even more than writing my own, which is saying something. I own my own literary and professional services business and also partner with another professional to help with the needs of her clients. I look forward to getting to know everyone and the possibility of working with many. www.staraisling.com

The discussion thread does that sometimes.... It's annoying. When it happens, you have to come to the thread and then go to the page with the highest number and look at the newest comments to figure out what you haven't read.
I'm Derrek. I'm generally new to writing, and although I've read books involved in the craft, there is still a lot of improvement that can be made. I decided to join this community with hopes that I can be involved in a group of similar minded people and make use of the resources it provides.
Hey Derrek, I know what you mean. I love hearing about all the new writers. It makes me feel that I'm not alone in all of this. I wish you the best with your writing.

Hello, I am Cristina from Bucharest. Life was a little bit harsh on me so I ended up 17 years ago (now I am almost 45) with a leg amputated after a suicide attempt. I am looking for open-minded people (authors and readers) who can understand that a person's physical handicap does not mean that he or she cannot be a good person and/or a good writer. My poems are not morbid, except for few but they bear the mark of solitude and poverty. Many of them are very nostalgic, about good old days in my childhood and natural beauty and love. Lacking money, I published my ebooks for free. I look forward to read free ebooks (mostly short stories or poems) and to have eventually my ebooks read by you. My poems are lately imbued with literary, religious and philosophical references and allusions, they are a little bit sophisticated.https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
Hello Cristina. I hate to hear that life dealt you such hard blows that you thought you had to resort to that. I'm thrilled to hear that you swam back up. My writing of choice is novels, but I do write poetry. I find it a very beneficial outlet for my thoughts, my feelings. I look forward to reading yours.Mary E. Conway.
Hi, my name is Stephanie. I hope to be published one day under a pseudonym. I am currently trying to figure out how to get my first novel published by a publisher (not self published). It is a fantasy book and one of four (maybe three, but probably four) books. I have read up a little bit on the do's and don't do's of sending things off, but feel like I am still trying to figure it out. Any advice from people who know or have been through getting published or edit or whatever is much appreciated. Thanks so much!

For different reasons, for me it is hard to read (or to write) longer scripts or novels. But I do like short stories or novellas.
For Stephanie please contact me off group I might be able to help you and No I am not selling anything. I am an indie house published author.

Hi everyone,My name is Donna and I'm a fan of young adult and new adult fiction, although I have been known to read other genres from time to time.
I used to run a book blog, but I had to take it down last month since I no longer have time to maintain it. I joined this group in the hopes that I can help others with their blogging questions, particularly if your blog is on WordPress.
I'm also the author of the Book Review plugin, so if you have a WordPress blog, you may want to check it out. It's free to use.
I look forward to chatting with all of you!
Dear Stephanie and P.I.,Fantasy is my favorite genre. Besides working on the last book of my Discover Trilogy, I am working on a fantasy series.
Stephanie I feel your pain about self publishing. I went with Page Publishing, which is a hybrid publishing company. Not as expensive as self publishing.
P.I. I would love to talk to you about indie. Will give you my e-mail address if you are interested. Thanks.

Cristina,In the front of my book, A Temptation, is a poem I wrote a life time ago. I put poems in the front of each of the books in The Discover Trilogy only because these poems that I wrote such a long time ago related so perfectly to the content of the books. Since you do not read novels I am including here the poem. The name is Wicked Dreams.
In the dark recesses of your mind they lay,
waiting to control your unconscious thoughts.
They worry you by day,
and mercilessly haunt your nights.
Is there no end to the scenes?
Of these wild and wicked dreams.

Hi all,My name is Elianne Adams, and I'm a Paranormal Romance author. My Return to Avalore series has been out for a bit over a year now, and is still going strong. The next book in the set is due to come out early this summer. I also have a new series that I'm working on. It's the Dragon Blood series. I have two stories out on that one, with another releasing soon.
I'm also an avid reader. I'll read just about anything, from fluffy time killer reads, to deep and delicious novels that rip me away from reality. When I finally surface from a good book, I'm already looking for the next. Little hint, if the story can make me cry, the author has a fan for life.
I can be found at elianneadams.com, on FB, and Twitter.
Anyway.. happy to be here. :) Look me up. I always love to chat.

My name is Andrè M. Pietroschek. I am a minor author & reviewer from Germany.
I tend to like Micro-Poetry, Dark Fantasy or Fantasy, Horror Short Stories, and Practiced Occultism.
I am all about prose, with nearly complete disregard for 'rules' or academic formula.
My real life had been sundered, leaving me with a fierce dislike for stalkers, and I am hard-pressed to rebuild my normalcy.
I published one ebook for sale and, when not marketing, I am working to finish the short stories I will publish next.

Hi,
I'm Jassie S. I am in my late twenties, married with a small baby who takes up most of my time. Apart from that, I'm an author. Last year in December, I had embarked on the writing career by self-publishing a middle grade children's fiction titled The Missing Laddoos on Smashwords. I enjoy reading equally. Whenever I get the time I write but nowadays it is mostly reading. I will love to meet more authors and readers who create beautiful stories and reach out to publish their works.

Someone posted in a dark corner of the web that if I join this group, my book will be made into a blockbuster film with A-list stars. So I figured, what the heck. :0)
Back on earth, my new book, "Who Killed Walt Bone," is a fast-paced, true coming of age story with drugs, sex, and murder all set in a 1970s karate school. Early reviews have been great though I am still undecided on a cover. It's on Amazon at http://WaltBone.com.
Like most of us, I am seeking additional reviews and ways to participate. Thanks!
