Hi, I'm Ellie and I write books but I also love to read them! I've written one novel (Ship of Haunts: the other Titanic story) and a collection of spooky short stories (Watching Charlotte Bronte Die) which is on Giveaway at the moment.http://tinyurl.com/lmbhp8a
My second novel is due out shortly, and like my first is a historical novel with a touch of fantasy (but without the ships!). This one includes ghosts and time travel, whereas Ship of Haunts included ghosts and reincarnation (spot the recurring theme!).

Hi: I have a PhD in English, and I've published a few academic books, before writing my first novel, "Romances of George Sand," a month ago. I love both reading and writing books, and hope that writing will be my long-term profession. I taught college English for 3 years, before focusing on running my Anaphora Literary Press (http://anaphoraliterary.com) full-time.
Hello Vincent and Co.,I'm P. G. Shriver, author of a young adult trilogy beginning with The Gifted Ones: The Fairytale, a rather unique reader experience according to reviews, written and verbal. The second book will be released this summer and I am meeting with an attorney this week to draw up rules for an unusual contest for this series. Even she is excited about the contest and I have never met her!
I've written a total of eleven books, nine for children under my pseudonym. I've visited numerous elementary schools with presentations of my books and discussions on writing. As a veteran educator, I'm comfortable in classrooms and enjoy watching children while I read to them.
My book The Lonely Chair brought me a second invite from Houghton Mifflin along with a request to see anything else I write, but at that time, I didn't feel that I had any other work on the same level as The Lonely Chair. Then all my research pointed me to self publishing. Some would call me crazy for making that choice, and I do still consider sending all of my manuscripts to HM for review... It takes so long to get a response, though. It's very difficult being an independent author, a full time writing and literature instructor, and head of a family, but I know the writing I'm doing is worth it and if I keep going, I will achieve my goals, especially with this YA trilogy. Perhaps HM will pick up my trilogy in the next year!
I'm also a reader, when time permits.

Hi. I'm Kathy Shuker and I'm an author but also an avid reader - always have been. I live in Devon, England, which is where my first novel Deep Water, Thin Ice is set. It's a contemporary character-driven mystery and is available currently as an eBook from Amazon but will be published soon in paperback. Looking forward to being part of this lively and friendly group. Thanks!
Hello fellow authors and readers: My new romantic/erotic/suspense/thriller was published today. What happens when the one true love crosses the most sacred of lines? "The One" and "The One and More" is the second in The Only One series of books charting the tremendous love, unbridled lust, and unending lies that swirl around Adelia Lindstrom and Miles Bremen.
Racy and heart-racing, The One and More is an erotic, exotic story that is certain to enthrall anyone who savors suspense novels with well-to-do flash and romantic fire.

I was happy to leave a review. I downloaded it during a free day and I'm happy to help out fellow authors, especially if I think they're on to something and deserve a nod. I don't know how much of the series you have sketched out or planned - but moving forwards, I'd say be mindful of focusing on the setting too much and continue down the path you've started by developing it into a strong character story.
Overall great job so far, I expect as long as you can keep the quality up and the interest going - you'll do very well with it. I suppose my only fear might be that it's a niche topic - the genetics thing. It's very interesting to me from studying human biology, genetics and reading about medical ethics. The trick is to keep the character interactions strong and the tension flowing - so it would work well as a story even if you didn't have the wonderfully crafted setting and medical ethics backdrop. If you can do that it will be a surefire winner.
*I was concerned about this with my atheist fantasy novels. I put a lot of effort into ensuring the novels would have worked well without the atheist tone.
