Nihar Suthar (niharsuthar) | 383 comments Hey guys! My name is Nihar Suthar and I published my first inspirational book just a few weeks ago as a college student. My book is titled "Win No Matter What" and is made up of a collection of inspirational stories.

I plan to give most of the profits from book sales to the Acumen fund, an international charity that invests in solutions to combat global poverty. It would be amazing if you could buy an ebook copy for only $3...or if you want, buy a paperback copy instead! Get inspired and make a difference in the lives of others! I can't wait to hear your thoughts on my book as well :)

Charlotte Eriksson (theglasschild) Hi all!
I've just self-published my first book Empty Roads & Broken Bottles; in search for The Great Perhaps and I'm so excited to finally have it out! It would mean the world if you wanted to take a look when you get the time :)

********
After reaching #2 on the Itunes-chart, 22000+ followers on twitter, praise from media & blogs from all over the world & 4 critically acclaimed albums; she packed her life in a guitar case and spent a year homeless on the road, with nothing but a dream and a longing for something more.
This is the story about the girl who left everything she knew to dedicate her whole life to her art.

The story of The Glass Child, Charlotte Eriksson, is one of those you usually see on movies. Only 18 years old she left everything she had and knew in Gothenburg, Sweden, and moved to London to dedicate her whole life to her music and art. A vague dream about reaching out turned out to be an extraordinary fight for true and real art. A journey about self-discovery, learning solitude, the difference between having a home and feeling at home and how she finally found a home in herself, in her music, in her words. Charlotte spent a year homeless on the road, sleeping at friends' and fans' floors, learning and searching. An ordinary girl created a community of over 22,000 dedicated fans online, and all alone with nothing but hard work and determination she managed to build a life on her art, being a true inspiration to so many people, showing that you can achieve and become exactly who you want to be, if you just want it bad enough. "I wanted to turn my life into art. My very existence into a poem. This is my story - it's been a beautiful fight. It still is."

John (johnbaxter) | 2 comments Hello,
I recently published "Voyage into the Wind" through my Pubfarm Books imprint by Col. William L. Osborne. This is an amazing story of his escape from Bataan, along with another American officer, during WWII. They sailed on a 22-foot boat to Australia, where they were awarded the Distinguished Service Cross by Gen. MacArthur. After his escape, Col. Osborne volunteered for Merrill’s Marauders, a special force organized to conduct combat missions behind Japanese lines in the China-Burma-India theater. He was Commander of the First Battalion Red and White combat teams. The book includes a 14-part series of interviews published in newspapers in 1942.

The ebook is available for Kindle and Nook, and a print version will be available at the end of July on Amazon.

June Collins (junecollins) | 48 comments Never satisfied!!!!!!!!!
I've had a few mediocre free promos on KDP amazon. Then I had my first good one, generating 12,000 downloads. I was over the moon until I saw an author on Goodreads who had just given out 32,000 downloads. I was so envious and made that my goal.
On my recent KDP promo I did beat her by 1,000 downloads. BUT, then I saw Rosalind, who writes fiction, set in New Zealand. That same week she generated over 60,000 downloads. Now I'm dissatisfied again. When is enough enough?????

John Francis (johnhtfrancis) | 2 comments Good morning everybody.

My name is John H.T. Francis; I am an author and a new member to this group. I wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself and my book Reflections on Fundamental Matters: Not for the Satisfied Mind.

Reflections on Fundamental Matters is an essay that addresses many important topics that almost all of us have debated at some point in our lives (e.g. nature of existence and life, history of ideas, ethics, free will, or knowledge). It relies on a multi-disciplinary approach, is written in an as-simple-as-possible style, is universal, and does not require some pre-acquired knowledge in the subjects to enjoy it. It is today available on Lulu and Kindle but will also be coming to market on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and iBookstore.
Lulu: http://bit.ly/197usfD
Kindle: http://amzn.to/19YfLyr

There is also a giveaway on GR scheduled to end on Sep 15 for those interested.

Thank you very much for reading this post. And I look forward to engage with those of you who have the same interests. JHTF

Judah Freed (judahfreed) | 23 comments Seeing that this thread welcomes nonfiction authors seeking support, I'd like to invite your help with a "crowdsourcing" project for my book, THE DAWN OF GLOBAL SENSE: Awakening to the Rising Global Consciousness Now Changing Our Lives (A call for world enlightenment inspired by Thomas Paine's Common Sense).

I am looking for a new phrase (ideally one or two words), that describes "global citizens" and "global thinkers." Both terms are true enough, but what's needed is a fresh phrase that hooks the imagination of people in the book trade and helps popularize a global sensibility among the general public.

So, what do YOU call the people who live their lives with a global awareness?

Here are some of their main characteristics:

They know we all are globally interconnected. This global awareness guides all of their daily life choices. Their lives influence others. They hold the vision for us to manifest our highest and best human potential. They serve as our inspiring "role models." They are local to global "activists" and "advocates." They are "practical idealists." They ask people to wake up to our global oneness. The apply the Law of Attraction. Do you get the idea?

What one word or phrase best describes such people, perhaps people like yourself?

FYI: Here is the book: http://hokuhouse.com/dawn-global-sense/

I am new also Patricia. I join groups that interest and then engage in topics where I feel you I make a contribution. As non-fiction authors we can often work our books into the conversation more organically as part of an ongoing conversation. I have found it a little overwhelming myself but I just try to listen as much as I talk and slow I think I am getting the hang of it.

Jeffrey Kern (jkern) | 5 comments The latest 5 star review simply says it all!
Great guide! Will be showing my golf-loving family!, September 9, 2013
By Katie - See all my reviews
This review is from: Golf Made Easy! a Backward Approach to Learning Golf... or Is It? (Paperback)
Golf Made Easy by Jeffery Kern is a GREAT golf guide for beginners and the like for golfing. Over the past year my family has picked up golfing on vacations and I had my first ever lesson. I enjoyed it, at first, but then suddenly it became so difficult to play, I couldn't remember anything I learned, and I just wasn't having fun anymore.

When I heard about Kern's book in learning golf...backwards, I was intrigued. The basis of this book is that he teaches golf starting with putting and working up to driving. It's the opposite how you are taught any other time, but as I read the book I was surprised how much sense it made! Learning the small and working up to the big just makes sense... this way I slowly work up to understanding putting more into each swing and how to do so. Why wouldn't you work up to the full drive?

The book itself is really nicely laid out. There are a lot of pictures to go with each different teaching - pictures of clubs, ways to hold, ways to pitch and drive, etc. Kern also gives a quick overview of how to choose the best clubs for you, golf terms and rules of the game, how to check if your club and ball are manufactured correctly, etc. There were a lot of things discussed that I wasn't aware of previously, and even things I had been taught before now felt like I would retain the information much better after having it laid out before me.

This book is less than 100 pages and is such a great guide. The chapters and content are organized well, and I know it's a book I will be referring to again and again as I go golfing.

I really enjoyed this book and not only will I read it again, but I am definitely bringing it on my next trip with my family so I can have everyone read it as well. I think they will really gain a lot from it.

I highly recommend this book.

James Oh | 17 comments Hi!

We are deeply grateful to what we are today, this is mainly because of Your continuous support that makes this blog progressive and prosperous consistently throughout this 5 sweet good years. As a result, we managed to publish the series of Lift You Up Ebooks with intention to share our insight experience, knowledge and skills we have used to achieve some of our successes. With this, we hope you may use some of them to face the challenges in times of uncertainties and trials.

Here, we are a firm believer of “we rise from lifting others.”

- BETTER THAN THE BEST

- LETTING GO AND MOVING ON

https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...

"Letting Go and Moving On" offers effective and excellent tips, steps and approaches to help readers to forgive anything which has no value to them especially to set aside hurts and pains. Though it is very difficult, painful and hurtful to let go especially for those involved with a loss of the life of an innocent child, whom the author had been promised.
Here, you may use some of the shared tips, steps and approaches to give up something not beneficial to you; namely complaining, resistance to change, your limited beliefs, the luxury of criticism, your fears , yourself defeating talk, on blame, your excuses, and so on..

- GROWING YOUR WEALTH EXPONENTIALLY

https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...

"Growing Your Wealth Exponentially" offers effective and good tips, steps and approaches to help readers to achieve a long lasting and effective desired effect of achieving abundance of wealth, health and happiness. The readers will then do what they love and keep moving towards their new found purpose. By doing so, they will follow the flow and not fight against the tides of the waves in order to stay financially independent and doing something we love to do for a better world.

With the above book series, we hope you too can benefit from our experience and insights by cultivating desire to help others in need. This will then enhance our chances of Lifting Up more people so as to create a better tomorrow for everyone. Bear in mind that everyone has his unique and gifted talents which can definitely be put into good use for the masses. Otherwise, they would not be created in the first place, so let us be courageous to explore, discover and experience as we move on.

Thanks again and do not let any myths hold you back from your contribution. With your support, we will continue to add books which will be published from time to time so as to serve you better and mightily.

Steven Goldsmith | 4 comments Hi, folks. In exchange for complimentary copies, I would love to have serious, honest reviews of my recently released book, The Healing Paradox: A Revolutionary Approach to Treating and Curing Physical and Mental Illness (North Atlantic Books, distributed by Random House). It is listed on Goodreads and Amazon.
My book explores certain fundamental reasons, never before described, why conventional medicine cures few of us, and why more of us are chronically ill. The reason is the central paradox of all healing: anything seemingly good for you is usually bad for you and what is seemingly bad for you can cure you.
Any potential reviewer may contact me at sgold200c@gmail.com.

Be well!

Ed Robinson (edrobinson) | 4 comments There are many of us who dream about selling all our stuff, quitting our jobs, and running away to Paradise. This is a story about one couple who made that dream come true. The author shares what it feels like to experience ultimate freedom, and outlines the steps they took to get there. The story includes tales from their travels, social commentary on the state of today's American society, and a simple financial plan that will benefit anyone, regardless of their future goals. Throughout the narrative the reader is treated to dolphins and manatees, pelicans and osprey, blue skies, blue water and white sand beaches. Tropical music plays a role as well. Read how music inspired them to execute their plan. Follow along as they transform from everyday working drones to carefree boat bums and beachcombers. This book will make you rethink how you look at life, and money.

Eli Kittim (eliofkittim) My book, "The Little Book of Revelation: The First Coming of Jesus at the End of Days" argues that the biblical story of Christ is prophetic rather than historical.
