Discern Editions?

Dodo (TrueDodo) | 42 comments I know it usually is "merge editions", or "add edition"... And Yes, having other editions there just next to the description of a book is good and useful and informative.

The problem is, merged editions seem to go as one here. Which is really bad. Like, say, when you rate a book, you rate all of them, willy-nilly. That`s wrong, especially when there are translation issues. The source might be perfect, but a translation might be awful. If what you rate is poor translation, the unflattering rating mars the innocent source as well. If you rate the source you happen to like, well, what you rate is every edition present, including poor translations.

Not to mention different editions sometimes differ regardless of the language. Like, say, there is a decent edition published by a decent publisher, and there is an edition maybe scanned and then published without any proofreading, full of typos and/or "scanos"...

Could something be done about that? Discern, somehow?

Thank you!
