I read so little commercial fiction any more that I'm in the same boat, although I did buy The Figure of the Detective: A Literary History and Analysis, which hasn't arrived yet.

I started reading The Figure of the Detective: A Literary History and Analysis, and I have to say that so far I am wholly unimpressed.
