An interesting synopsis, but the time flips disconnected me from the story. Chapter 1 held me to the end, as did chapter 2, 3, 4, and 5, so it was great connective writing. The story seems way too detailed to be a short story though. And the repetition in chapter 5 wasn't as smooth as it could have been, either done with alternate perspectives in comparison or done with a shorter repeat of the same information in a longer view.
