Debbie | 14 comments The book opens with a youth in a field of weeds with a cat, and they are looking down on a mentally challenged girl playing in her backyard. It's a tawdry tale, I think, but only remember the girl had a big stuffed animal that she used to arouse herself (what a thing to remember). It also ended with the same cat in the weeds looking down on the yard, but the boy is gone.

Tab (tabbrown) | 4967 comments Was this book for teens or adults?
Anything about the cover?
Time period/location story takes place?

Was it a coming-of-age, mystery, fantasy, etc?
Part of a series?

Debbie | 14 comments I believe it was written for adults, but maybe it was a coming of age story. The cover, I only remember, no jacket but maybe a yellow cover with a red cat imprinted in corner. I bought it, I remember, with two other contemporary books on sale: Brothers of the Sea and The Last of the Crazy People. Just bought the latter and found it was a pretty good novel, despite its crazy title. I do wish I could find this title!
