Jim Vuksic | 1049 comments Author Ruth Rendell died on Saturday morning in London. She was 85 years-old.
Ms. Rendell, who sometimes used the pen name Barbara Vine, wrote 60 crime/mystery novels; 20 of which were a series featuring the main character Chief Inspector Wexford. Her final novel, Dark Corners will be published in October by Penguin Random House.

Susan Cronk (susancronk) I am always saddened to hear of another author's passing, particularly one whose characters have had such a profound impact on readers. You not only lost the author, but their characters pass on as well and suddenly the world seems just a bit emptier.
