Daniel Haight | 49 comments CUBE was very reminiscent of classic episodes of The Twilight Zone and you never quite figured out what was going on. The sequel and prequel further complicated the story that thrived on simple narrative and complex death scenes. The remake is being produced by THE LEGO MOVIE's Roy Lee and PROMETHEUS screenwriter Jon Spaihts. Director Saman Kesh is best known for his short film Controller.

Marin Wyden | 4 comments I don't see how this is going to end well. The original movie worked because it was such a low budget effort. It was basically one room with different back-lighting, which added to the claustrophobic atmosphere.

A remake is liable to add all sorts of unneeded crap to the story, and on the off chance it doesn't, why bother with a remake at all?

I'll wait for the reviews before trying this one.

My thoughts exactly Marin.

Cube works because it is was so minimalist. It was like the original Saw movie, you don't know what is going on and why everyone is there and slowly you find out. I could see a remake just being cheesy torture porn.

2 crappy sequels? :-? They made a third after that turd of a second.

I just read the synopsis and the third actually sounds good and has reasonable reviews. I might have to find a copy. :-)

Phil | 1185 comments Nah, it was a Canadian movie with David Hewlett (from Stargate: Atlantis) and Nicole De Boer (the replacement Dax in DS9). It was pretty good but the second one sucked.

Camilla Hansen (malazanshadowdancer) | 64 comments I'm not sure how to feel about this. I mean, I liked all three movies quite a bit, because the focus on the mystery and deaths rather than on unnecessary relations and drama like that (simplified way to describe it, I guess, but you catch my drift, I hope) was more to my liking than how a lot of other movies do things :(
I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

David Forck | 3 comments i LOVE the first and third movies of the series (hypercube, while an interesting concept, just didn't quite hold up for me).

The only thing that really bothered me about the Cube movies was the lack of any real plot outside of those in the cube.
