Hello everyone,

...hope all is well at your end :-)

You are all requested to please suggest any one Classic Romantic Comedy book and one Contemporary Romantic Comedy / Chick-Lit book ...based on the theme: Socially Awkward/Shy Hero/Heroine  ...for us to read in the month of August, 2015 :-)

You have till 25th July, 2015 ...to nominate the books that you wish to (you can even suggest those that are written by you...!)

...and on 26th July, 2015 ...the selected books will be announced here

...along with the links to the discussion threads where you can describe your reading experiences regarding those book...!

Please try not to make your comments too specific in the discussions ...but if you would like to mention certain revelatory facts about the stories, then please use the spoiler feature.*

Looking forward to your participation :-)

Thanks ...and happy reading...! :-)

*spoiler feature: < spoiler>...< /spoiler>

There wouldn't be a space after the two front brackets, but I have put them there so that the formula shows up.

For a Classic Romantic Comedy book, based on the theme: Socially Awkward/Shy Hero/Heroine

...my suggestion is that we read Right Ho, Jeeves Right Ho, Jeeves (Jeeves, #6) by P.G. Wodehouse by P.G. Wodehouse :-)

In any case, this is the only Classic Romantic Comedy that I can think of ...that matches the theme, as one of the male protagonists could be defined as a Socially Awkward/Shy Hero

Thanks...!

Playing for Keeps Playing for Keeps (Neighbor from Hell, #1) by R.L. Mathewson by R.L. Mathewson

I haven't read this book as yet but according to my research this is actually a Contemporary Romance rather than a Romantic Comedy or Chick-Lit

However, it's supposed to contain a lot of humour/comedy so it was my idea that we might read this for our group read if we fail to come up with a proper Romantic Comedy / Chick-Lit book, based on the theme Socially Awkward/Shy Hero/Heroine

Please feel free to offer your feedback on this topic, thanks!

The second option is that instead of compromising on the genre, we ignore the theme: Socially Awkward/Shy Hero/Heroine

That is, we recommend any Romantic Comedy / Chick-Lit book, regardless of it's theme.

In that case, my suggestion would be Twenties Girl Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella by Sophie Kinsella

Anyway, please feel free to offer your thoughts on this topic, thanks!
