I am looking for some Australian book recommendations - I pretty much love anything (except romance/erotica). What do you guys suggest? what are your favourites?

Andrea | 1583 comments One that I highly recommend is Shiver by Nikki Gemmell, about an Australian journalist who joins a mission to Antarctica. I've read this 3-4 times; love it.

One aspect that I particularly liked was the preparation for the journey, at the Australian Antarctic Division just south of Hobart. It's where I'm from and I have driven past it so many times (and dream of seeing Antarctica one day, too).

That one looks fascinating - I will have to add that one.

We do yes, if a 'u' isn't in there it is because autocorrect assumes we are wrong. Then it makes it American with no 'u' lol

Carolyn | 7837 comments Some recent Aussie books I've enjoyed:

Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty
After Darkness by Christine Piper
Lost & Found by Brooke Davis
The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion
The Night Guest by Fiona McFarlane
Hello From the Gillespies by Monica McInerney
Mr Wigg by Inga Simpson

.....and probably a whole heap more but that's all I think of at the moment :)

"The Rosie Effect" was a good book. I didn't enjot it as much as "The Rosie Project" though

Yes agreed! I also second Rosie's choice of The Light Between Oceans. Beautiful book!

"The Secret Keeper" - That book was so good I told all my friends to read it so I could discuss the ending.
