Expanse Series Book 2: Caliban's War

But I just finished Drive, the short story prequel to the Expanse series by Corey. My review is here

I enjoyed Leviathan Wakes enough that I bought Caliban's War as soon as it was published. This is one of those rare times that the second book in a series is better than the first. It picks up a year after LW, and the feel of the story is quite different....It didn't have nearly as much soul-searching as in LW; we know how dangerous the protomolecule is this time around and heated action starts right away. The solar system watches and wonders what is happening to/on Venus, as this incomprehensibly powerful being creates something, who knows what? But hey, it's not happening right now so the Earth-Mars-OPA factions continue to squabble and bang their swords and grab for power just like humans have done since forever. Depressingly realistic. As in LW, the authors did a great job of giving the book a satisfying conclusion but with a tantalizing last page hook for the next book.

As last month, we'll start off discussions on the first and I suggest we keep things spoiler free for the first week or two.
