I didn't even have this on my to-read list; just picked it up at the library on a whim after finally watching the movie on TV. (Actually, I think I may have had the book on my to-read list at one point in time, but I probably deleted it because I thought I would never get to it.)

Not a bad read. I liked everything better in the book EXCEPT for the love story between Nan and Harvard Hottie. There really isn't a whole lot of storyline or description of him in the book and I think those parts were elaborated a lot better in the movie.

I liked this book way better than the movie. But I do agree about the love story point you made.
