Cj | 2 comments I really hope someone can help me find either this poem or the book its from. I read it sometime in early 2000 in high school. All I can ever remember is fragments of a poem from the book. I've tried various searches but came up with nothing.

I can't remember anything about the book just this bit of poem. Hopefully someone out there read it as well and it stuck with you. If anyone has any thoughts or can think of any more info I can try and add.

"There are sharks that swim in the seas of evening darling
So when you reach those moon white waters pause.
There will come ships with
With silent oars to carry you across

But now my love I can not sing for weeping
As ever in the darkling day
I hear bells around me ringing
And you are gone so far, so far away"

Abby | 214 comments If this was part of a fantasy book, do you remember anything about the plot?
Was it from the library? Approximately when do you think it was published?

Every little bit helps; good luck with your search!

Cj | 2 comments I think the main character was female. But I can't be sure. Maybe the high school library. It wasn't a book I owned I know that.

I can't remember anything at all about the plot. All I ever get are fragments of the poem. I wish I could remember anything else but I read a ton in high school and it's impossible to be sure what belonged to one book and not another.
