Hi everyone. My name is Mike Taylor. I'm a new author. I had my first book published Nov 2011. It's Young Adult Sci-fi/Fantasy. I'm a 7th and 8th grade Language Arts teacher. And even though I've always loved writing, it's the students who really inspire me. My goal is to get as many kids reading as possible. And in doing that, I get to do what I love.
Hello everyone and happy new year ..I'v been a member for a while but i never got the time to introduce myself...so here I am - a grad-student in engineering and I love to read(don't get enough time to do as much as i want!!)... :)
Hi everyone! my name is Erika and I have been running Moonlight book Reviews since April of 2010. i read anything but my my main focus is YA and Classics.
Erika wrote: "Hi everyone! my name is Erika and I have been running Moonlight book Reviews since April of 2010. i read anything but my my main focus is YA and Classics."Hello Erika. Also hello to Georgina. I must admit, this is a very friendly group. Feel lucky to have been invited to join. Anyone may feel free to friend me if you'd like. :)
Hope all have a great 2012. One of my New Years resolutions is to "share" the love of mysteries. What do a jewel thief, a dog, a golfer, and an underground tunnel have in common? No, they didn't all "walk into a bar." They are included in a FREE short story collection, MYSTERIES TO DIE FOR. Free until Jan 3 if Santa brought you a Kindle http://tinyurl.com/88nsqn4Great if you are nursing a hangover and can only read for a short period of time!
I got James email and indentation and I am excited to be here. The site has so many members it will be hard to make a connection with each and everyone but, I hope to make a connection with as many as I can.I want to invite everyone reading to click my pic and send me a friend request, if you like my profile or just want more friends. I am an avid reader. I read as little as one book a week and as much as five all novels. I know I am nutty about books.
My daughter gave me a blog to post my reviews and other book ramblings on. She named it the Lissa “The Book Nut” Reviews and other ramblings. It was a gift and her idea which tells you even my own kids think I am crazy about books.
Please take a look at my blog at
www.booknutreviews.blogspot.com
and please follow me. I am giving away a 100 followers Gift Card from Amazon in one give-a-way and a new years e-book in another.
I hope I find lots of friends here it will assist in my travel plans….. JK!!! LOL!!! HAHAHAHA!
Here to say hi! I look forward to meeting members. Thanks for the invite Rick. I'm the author of The Necro Device, Darkness & Daemons, and the upcoming release of Cult of Tattoo later this year. I tend to write darker, technology themed novels due to my background in engineering, programming, CIS, robotics, and electronics. I'm a tech geek, but most of all, I'm a story teller. I love to write dark thrillers filled with twists and technology when and where I can fit it.
Once again, thanks for inviting me and be sure to check out my website at www.mtdismuke.com to learn more about me and my work.

Hello everybody. I'm Athanasios, (real name) and I want to thank Rick for inviting me to the James Mason Group. I'd also like to introduce everyone to my two literary efforts Mad Gods & it's most recent sequel, Commitment both part of a series called Predatory Ethics. I'm currently in the middle of research and the first draft of the third, In Whom To Trust. The first two are well represented at my webpage: www.mad-gods.com and are available @:Mad Gods:

The Antichrist lives. He is wanted dead or alive by Satanists, the Catholic Church and the Dark Nobility.
Kostadino must save him or let the world turn into hell on earth.

Commitment:

Adam watched Mad Gods drag his father to Hell.
Melusine Rothschild, Grande Dame of the Black Nobility wants to raise him. She is part of the World Elite that live by Predatory Ethics and seek to guide him in wielding the power and influence of his dark birthright.
Adam, the teenage Antichrist/AntiXos, wants none of this. He watches his TV shows in one of Danvers Mental Hospital's nice padded rooms, snugly dressed in his own long sleeved, buckled, canvas jacket. He feels safe here away from a hostile, ravaging outside world.
He's horribly wrong.

Welcome Athanasios! Your books sound fascinating... so I just this moment bought Mad Gods off of amazon! Abrazos

Thank you for the invitation. Retired, rural, a MT native now living in KY, have horses, dogs, rabbits, have been a part time artist most of my life and have read books as long as I can remember.I keep my 'favorites' to re-read, as I am unable to sit without a book in my hands and have often lived in remote areas where trips to town (and the library) were once a month or less.
Thanks to the Internet, I recently found a copy of the first book I remember getting as a gift, when I was 6 or 7 years old ... "Crazy Quilt, the Circus Pony" written and illustrated by Paul Brown.
Welcome to new members here. This is an exciting place for books. Happy New Year to all of you!Sharon, I love to reread my favorite as well and I also get withdrawal symptoms when I don't have a book ready at all times. We may have the same addiction. LOL.

Christa wrote: "I also get withdrawal symptoms when I don't have a book ready at all times. We may have the same addiction"Sounds as if we do. I am obviously an addictive personality ... addicted to chocolate, books and horses ... in no particular order!

We have at least two of the same addictions: chocolate and books. Ha.

Well I'm here thanks to Rick adding me as a friend and then inviting me to join. I can't promise to post very often since I usually only access goodreads from my phone, generally just to update when I'm reading. I'm Michigan born but transplanted to Alaska back in 2002. I spend an obscene amount of time reading and dabbling with writing short stories for my own amusement. That is when I'm not handling my two daughters and my two younger sisters and their schedules, as well as my husbands. Life is a never ending adventure.
Favorite book of all time: The Giver by Lois Lowry
Recent favorite book I've read: Graceling by Kristin Cashore
Book recently pissing me off: Selection Event by Wayne Wightman

Sharon, as an animal lover, you might be interested in the artwork of Patricia Leslie directory.ac5.org/PALeslie. This is in addition to her work as an author The Ballad of Young Tam Lin, although her writing includes a love of and respect for all living things.

Hello friends of James "Humbert Humbert Captain Nemo" Mason. Rick has graciously invited me to your very well-represented book club. My name is Mark Tye Turner and I am the author of "Notes from a 12th Man: A Truly Biased History of the Seattle Seahawks." I will post a bigger description of the book within the community. However, I will say that if you are a Seahawk fan, you will definitely want to read this book. If you are football fan in general, I think you will enjoy it as well. If you like sports books in general, then there's a good chance you will like it too. If you hate the Seahawks or football or sports, I will say it is a hardcover and can be used as weapon on your enemies. Be them real or imagined.
I appreciate the personal invitation from Rick to join "The James Mason Community Book Club." It already feels very personal. My New Year's resolution: Read more. I've been a slacker on the reading which is ironic since I did just finished a book on my father's life in vaudeville (1930s) and into WWII. Truly, it's been an obsession for the past three years.
If you love vintage, "Moon Over Vaudeville" contains amazing vintage photographs and newspaper articles my father saved in a scrapbook of the performers he worked with and newspaper articles that are all just really fun. The most famous person he worked with on the same billing with was "Buddy Ebsen" in Atlantic City, NJ. If you're interested in that era, please check out my website: http://www.moonovervaudeville.com.
Happy reading in 2012!
Happy New Year to all. I too have landed here through Rick's invitation. Seems like I have landed in a large and happy group, which I am pleased about because I am an author who is new to Goodreads.
Hello everyone. I really like the idea of this group, and I'm glad to be here. I'm an avid reader and an aspiring author. My fiction interests are usually fantasy, science fiction, horror, and political thrillers, although I get the urge to read the likes of Mark Twain from time to time. My non-fiction interests include history (especially military history) and political writings (although I admit that sometimes seems to be more fiction, depending on who wrote it).As I said, I'm an aspiring author. I finished my first complete novel last year, CHASING AFTER VANITY, which is something of a comedic thriller. I'm looking for an agent for that one now. I'm getting ready to self-publish a novella some time over the next month or so, which will be my debut work. That is a dark heroic fantasy called THE PRINCE OF GRAVES, which is a prelude to a larger work that I hope to publish this summer.
Thanks for having me. Looking forward to some interesting discussions!
