Katie Stewart (katiewstewart) Hi Everyone,

Rick invited me a couple of days ago and I've finally found the time to come over. Thanks, Rick.

I'm an Australian author and illustrator, married to a farmer, with three lovely children. I work in a school library, which is a great job, and in my spare time - besides the writing and art - I play my guitar or Celtic harp. My taste in books is wide, but I especially love fantasy and historical novels.

Hi everyone, thanks for welcoming me to your group.

I'm a promiscuous reader and writer. I read from all genres and I write fiction as well as non fiction. Literary fiction, pop fiction, and chick lit. My first novel, The Christmas Cookie Club, is on the stands in a small, tightly packed, sexy and cheap version. My second novel, A Gift for My Sister, is out in May 2012.

The books I read last year that knocked my socks off:

The Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell
Malcolm X: a Life of Reinvention by Manning Marable

Hope you like getting to know me.

Welcome Mark, Catharina and JL- so wonderfulto welcome all three of you to our Group!

(I so agree with you Cathatina! James Mason dominates every scene he is in- and not by show-boated- rather by the sublime use of his shere personality!)

The man is one of my top all-time favorite actors. Others are, Sir Laurence Olivier, Merle Oberon, and the incomparable Al Pacino. And except for Merle, they're all fellow Taureans. :-D

Y. Correa (authorycorrea) | 11 comments Hello everyone!
I'm Y. Correa, Author of a series of YA Interracial fantasy novels called "The Fate Collection"

The first book in the collection is called "In Love with Death" the second is called "The Enchantress" and I am currently writing the third part in the collection. I have also written a collection of short stories, and I am also in the process of writing an Adult, Medieval fiction novel. Most of my stories are either paranormal or interracial or both.

I love books and writing is a passion. I find that my writing style is a bit different than most, in that not only is it first person but it's also much like reading a movie script. When you read my stories, you're not just reading them you are watching them.

I hope to make a whole lot of new friends and fellow book lovers here!

Y. Correa

Hello everyone. I'm a teacher (just completing a Masters in TESOL through USC), and an avid fiction reader (although I ate up Nicholas Carr's "The Shallows.") Favorite author is Sir Terry Pratchett, but my second favorite is my wife, Patricia Leslie, whose first novel, "The Ballad of Young Tam Lin" is now on Amazon as a Kindle (check out the "look inside" feature, which lets you read the first 3 chapters free), or as a hardcopy book through https://www.createspace.com/3661637. Now, you may think, "Well, he's her husband. He HAS to say it's good." But truthfully, I was bloody terrified when she asked me to read the manuscript. Seemed like a marriage destroyer (if it was crap.) But I loved it, and my standards are really high (Pratchett, Gaiman, Austin, Dickens). If you like fantasy romance, sensuality without graphic sex, please at least preview the book on Kindle (you don't need a Kindle to do this.)

Katherine Owen | 2 comments I want to thank Rick for the wonderful invitation to join this group. I've written three novels, Seeing Julia, Not To Us, and recently released When I See You and am also featured in the anthology, Indie Chicks 25 Women 25 Personal Stories, which includes an excerpt from Seeing Julia and my personal story, One Fictionista’s Literary Bliss that details my writing journey.

My writing delves into the complexities of relationships, often from loss, love, and fate perspectives. I enjoy the unpredictability and complexity of the human spirit and explore these character traits in my writing. My novels are not for the faint of heart and will take readers on a proverbial emotional roller coaster ride before reaching resolution. My writing tends to be dark, moody, and sometimes funny. It can also be a bit lyrical, even literary, and often edgy. My stories are comprised of broken heroines, women who are often lost and not always intent on finding their way back and even the heroes in my books have a few flaws that often cause unnecessary turmoil.

Anyway, I'm glad to be here and look forward to getting to know more about this amazing little community on GR.

Best,
Katherine Owen
