PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF TO YOUR FELLOW JAMES MASON MEMBERS!
Thanks for the invite :)My name is Lee, I'm a cross-genre author and a native of the UK.
This group is certainly on the huge side. I look forward to meeting you all!
Hi LeeIt's a huge group, isn't it, full of interesting readers and writers:) I'm just curious as to what a 'cross-genre author is - does that mean your individual novels are cross-genre ie: historic crime fiction, or you write in various genres (crime and history/). Sorry to be so dense, only had one cup of coffee this morning so brain not working properly yet ;o). And, of course, what genres are they?
Cheers
Hi Marianne,I don't limit myself to one genre. Also, some of my work crosses genres.
Examples of this would be,
Mind of a Killer is Crime/Horror
20 Years After The Zombie Apocalypse is Thriller/Horror/PA
Super Nova is Sci-Fi
Hope this explains as I feel confused myself now!

My thanks to Rick for inviting me to join this group. I'm an author and doctoral candidate in history. I won't prattle on here about what I've written except to say that my most recent book is The Race to the New World, which just came out with Palgrave MacMillan and will be available in Canada in spring 2012 from Douglas & McIntyre. You can learn more about what I do at my website.http://www.douglashunter.ca

Thank you, Rick, for the invite :-) My name is Kathryn Long and I love to read and write. In both cases, mystery is my favorite genre. I started getting serious about writing rather late in life -- age forty-seven -- when I decided to complete a novel. Better late than never, I guess. At present, I have 5 published works -- Whips, Cuffs, and Little Brown Boxes, a cozy mystery, being my latest. And then 2 currently in the young adult category -- Cinderella Geek and Not So Snow White. I teach high schoolers and see a lot of bullying. That's what made me decide to write YA. In any case, I'm just happy if I'm writing, no matter what the story! Happy to be included ... and happy reading!

Hi everyone! C.K. Volnek here. Thanks to Rick for the invite. So nice to be here with you all. I'm a US author and my novel, Ghost Dog of Roanoke Island, just made it's debut last month. It's a tween ghost story (though adults have enjoyed it as well) with a twist of Native American folklore and based upon the mystery of the Lost Colony of Roanoke Island.
Thanks everyone! Would love to have you visit my website and blog. Love making new friends! www.ckvolnek.com
Diane wrote: Emmy wrote:''Thank Rick...''Diane, its good to know that you feel that way about my favourite author and its good also to know that you've read about all of his books. Am looking forward to read his 'Doomsday Key' (waiting for its paperback version. Its hardcover is outrageously expensive in my part of the world!)
Hallo, I don't know if any of you folk live in northern ireland, but if so you are very welcome to come along to the launch of my book Lions of the Grail at Carrickfergus Castle tomorrow (saturday 22nd October). Its running from 11 till 3 and there will be tours of the castle available (11:30 and 2:30), including one especially for kids. Some guys from the Kragfergus Living History Group will be doing a demonstration of weapons and fighting from the early 14th century and the time of Edward Bruce's invasion (when the book is set).
Its all very exciting and if anyone is around the East Antrim area and wants to say hi, or even just wants to visit one of the best preserved Norman castles in these islands, you are very welcome -normal castle entry fee applies, though its only a couple of quid.

Thanks for the invitation, Rick! I'm glad to be here. I'm a newly self-published picture book author. My book is A Reel Cool Summer and it is listed here on GoodReads. My awesome son, Joey, illustrated the book for me. I started Read To Me Publishing, LLC in order to publish the book.I look forward to learning and sharing here with you!
Hi. Glad to be here. I'm Pat. Headed to Ethiopia to triage nurse in rural areas around Arba Minch in 6 days so am reading African Feminism, The Politics of Survival in Sub-Saharan Africa, edited by Gwendolyn Mikell. Fascinating, and a very different feminism than in industrialized countries. The last child is at college, and I'm back more to my favorite passion- reading.
Hi to all my esteemed fellow members and thanks to Rick for the invite. I once aspired to join "The Bastard Sons of Lee Marvin," a small group in Pasadena, CA, but I didn't make it. So it's a pleasure to join the James Mason Book Club.I love to crack wise (please forgive me) have been writing all of my life, and have a new crime novel coming out in December called Storm Damage--hard-boiled New Orleans noir. My website is www.edkovacs.com.
I also work as a private security contractor and am currently deployed to Central Asia, eating bad food in a very remote place until the end of the year. I work long hours but will try to spend as much time on the discussion boards here as I can muster. Thanks for having me!
Thank you very much Rick for inviting me to this group.I am a first time author, having written a biography that covers a period of my life and discusses the subject of International Parental Child Abduction.
You can find out a lot more about me on my website http://www.yemie.co.uk or you can visit my Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/YemiTimeWillTell
I look forward to contributing to this already very popular group.
Yemi
I'm excited to have found this group through Rick, the moderator. I'm a reader and a writer. I write technical books to eat, and fiction because deep down, I'm a tormented, wretched, self-loathing person who seeks approval from people I don't know, and probably wouldn't like. Does that make me a bad person? We are living (and reading)during the greatest upheaval the publishing industry has ever seen. The end result, and the winners and losers will for the most part be determined by us the reading public. How is that for power?

Stopping by to say hello…First, I want to say thank you to Rick for inviting me. He’s already begun supporting me in my debut novel When Copper Suns Fall’s release on December 6th, 2011.
Blurb about me:
A few of my new friends have recently approached me. Introductions are long overdue. As promised, I’m stopping by to say hello to you all. I live in the City of Alchemy and Meds, North Carolina. I’m obsessed with reading, writing, and mentoring others in the craft, as well. I hold the MFA in creative writing and plan on teaching English to students living overseas.
Blurb about the Copper Suns trilogy:
Goodread’s response to my debut novel When Copper Suns Fall has been overwhelmingly (a nice big adverb) wonderful. The story of the fallen angels and the demon slayers that hunt them is classic. But someone once told me to write the story you’d like to read. It’s a classic case of the “what if…” approach. So I put a slight twist on that story and a new type of female heroine was born. If you haven’t read my profile, then you may not know that my grandmother’s love of gardening is the novel’s inspiration. But don’t let images of pretty flowers and sunny days give you the wrong impression. The novel is gritty, edgy, and explores just what could happen if those things suddenly disappeared.
Stop by, drop me a line. I’ll be holding a book giveaway soon for people on my to-read list and handing out ARCs to seven lucky fans. I’m looking forward to reading and discussing the classics (the good stuff) with you all.
Yours in Prose,
KaSonndra Leigh
Author of the YA novel When Copper Suns Fall: A Dark Urban Fantasy

I'm just finishing James Rollins last book The Devil Colony. I'm really enjoying it. This is his Sigma group. If you enjoy James Rollins. I would say try Steve Berry. His books are along the same line as James Rollins. They are good friends these two authors. I watched an interview with the both of them. Really enjoyed it. Steve Berry is a local author from Georgia where I live. I just happen to pick up one of his books and feel in love with it. That was about 5yrs ago. I have read all of his books. I would highly recommend them.

Hello Everyone. I am Justin, some of you may remember me if not then to you I say hello! I am an author of a new book entitles The Macabre Masterpiece: Poems of Horror and Gore, I am a writer and I enjoy poetry and people who respect and appreciate my work. I look forward to talking with you all.
Oh Diane, i was told of Steve Berry's books and how he is as good as Rollins and with over-the-board enthusiasm, i picked up his The Third Secret. It was so so disappointing that i felt throwing the book into a raging furnace! It was as nothing compared to the blurb on its backcover. The so-called Vatican secret that ''will rock the world'' wasnt as ''earth-shattering'' as i thought it would be. I have been finding it hard to pick any other book that has his name on it.
