I just discovered that someone has posted a YouTube video of the episode I shot for Unsolved Mysteries on my book "I'm just an ordinary girl." The Sharon Kinne Story. I don't know how that's legal, but the link is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCt1-c...

I am drawn to this group because the theme took me back in memory to childhood books that I still recall with great love and appreciation. I'm also a big fan of the late actor, James Mason.Author of "My Friend Nick the Greek: Life in Las Vegas in the '50s" and soon to be published "Adopting Senior Strays: The Short Path to Long Love."
The shining books that were the sun and moon of my childhood were the books of Laura Ingalls Wilder. When I was in the third grade, our class wrote a letter to Ms. Wilder. I snuck up to the teacher's desk, copied the address and wrote a letter of my own.And lo and behold! Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote me a lovely personal little note, unfortunatley no longer locatable.
Hello Everyone! Thanks so much for the invite, Rick. Hi I'm so glad you invited me into this club I love reading it is my passion. So i really appreciate that you have you have given me this oppertunity.
Hello all, thank you for allowing me into the He-Man Woman Hater's Club...wait, Rick is whispering something to me...Oh! my apologies, The James Mason Community. Anyway, I am Pax and I like to read. My tastes run, for the most part, to thrillers and sci-fi, but i'm not above picking up a young adult for horror or romance. Oops, scratch that. What I meant to say is that on occasion I indulge in other genres. There that's better. Hope I can contribute.btw- If you haven't picked up the debut novel Seed by Ania Ahlborn, you should. It's sublime. That is an honest plug from a new fan. I have no connection to her other than rabidly stalking her on Twitter.

Hello All - Rick sent me an invitation so here I am. Thanks, Rick! I'm an author and gluttonous reader. I wrote the LA Franco mystery series (you can see the order they were written in on my website) and when I read a book I like I'll take the time to post a review on my blog so feel free to follow me there. Thanks again, and looking forward to interesting conversations.Baxter Clare Trautman, book:The River Within|11576325]

Hi all. I'm Jessi, 29, and live in Nevada though I'm from California. I want to be a children's writer but I also write fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. I am currently reading Arabian Nights (I never read it growing up although I did hear tales such as Sinbad, Aladdin, and Ali Baba & the forty thieves), His Bright Light by Danielle Steel (I am quite the Danielle Steel fan although her more recent books I haven't been able to get into lately), The Essential Guide to Children's books (obvious since I want to be a children's writer), American Best Poetry 2007 (love these books ever since I took my poetry class in college), & In the Company of a Courtesan (I'm trying to write a story about an Italian girl who wants to go to France & become a courtesan. My best friend read this and told me it may help with my story) I'm an avid reader & always read more than one book at a time. I look forward to chatting with you all.Jessi
Ps. Rick thanks again for the invite.

Hello everyone! I'd like to thank Rick for this invitation. I'm a new author and I just got my first book published by indie publisher, Red Willow. It's been such a wonderful journey from avid writer to published author.I have an adorable pet rabbit who devours carrots and if anyone has any tips on rabbit keeping, I'll be happy to hear since he's my first rabbit. I can't wait to see what this group has to offer. It's so huge!

I forgot to introduce myself when I joined the group so I'll rectify that mistake now.I'm Irina and, like everyone who is on this site, I love to read. At the moment I'm a hermit who spends too much time online and at the gym in between reading my books. I seem to be playing the waiting game with life right now, so with all this time on my hands I've taken to trying to read and review as many books as possible.
I find myself to be a book snob at times but I've started branching out more from my comfort zone of books. It's an enjoyable process, even when the book isn't to my taste.

Thanks for the invite. I'm 100% ebook reader and writer these days and have finally kicked the paper habit after many years (well, been electronic a while now, but it's easier every year). After years half-heartedly chasing the traditional publishing route with limited success (mostly from lack of trying, nerves, uncertainty) I went full out the electronic way and jumped in the deep end. It has been liberating, and I no longer lose sleep worrying about losing years of work on unpublished works that are stored on computers that tend to die at inopportune times (I lost my main drive and the backup sever on one day - fortunately had most of the stuff on my laptop). It was enough to prompt me to just go out and do it, put the work out there before I did lose it for real, and the results have been great on a personal level.
Unfortunately, the writing and editing and cover art and marketing eats well into reading time. I have the kindle to read when I'm away from home, on planes, in hotel rooms, so that has helps read at least a few books. lol.
Looks like a great group anyway.

I am about 3/4 done with In the Company of a Courtesan - what an amazing read!!! Bucino is such an original character- captures Venice so very well- really a very good read.

Rick, that's the beauty of reading different books at once. It allows you to flow from place to place without too much effort. As long as you can keep all the characters and plot lines straight. I have a three book limit I've found. After that it becomes a little too ridiculous.
