I’m pending for a bunch on netgalley in edelweiss and I think I’ve asked for some of those. I’ll have to check.

Lol yeah I just requested a bunch too and I’m like WHY? I need to catch up on arcs. Not add more to my pile 😂😂
I know. I have like 20 and possibly will get 10 more. I need to buckle down and get through some
Lol every time I come on this thread you guys impress me with your constant Netgalley and Edelweiss use. I've tried Netgalley a few times and can't get into it. Everything I ever have in terms of ARCs is from goodreads giveaways, where I've kind of learned to game the system. I could never even think about reading so many arcs before publication.

lol yeah I like NetGalley a lot more but still get a little angry when I get rejected.

I never use Edelweiss because the few times I did, I never got anything. But I do like NetGalley and I've been getting approved a lot more

Lol oh Edelweiss.. yeah I'm never surprised when I get rejected by anything over there.

I always find it strange that people say Edelweiss never approves them. I got about 80 titles from them. O.o I don't I do anything different other than have a blog. 🤷🏻♀️
OMG BLOOD AND HONEY IS ON NETGALLEY. Just requested and I'm hoppppppppppppppppppppppppping and prayyyyyyyyyyying to get this damn ARC.

I think it's because I don't have a blog even. I just post to GR and Amazon. I've tried to start a bookstagram, but I don't have the energy for it

I.... I... kind of... have a copy on my kindle since... two months ago. It was on Edelweiss but I can't read it yet because I have to read the first book. And now I'm scared. Please don't hate me?
It's still on Edelweiss too. I just checked. I like Edelweiss because you can make your case and also re-request.

WAIT WHAT? I got rejected so quick on Edelweiss when I requested that book. Like .2 seconds after.

I don't think it has the problem either where you request. It sits in pending and then goes to read now and you can't download it.

uh, what is this black magic called "re-request"?

I can't remember if it was one I requested or one that you could download immediately. I think it was the later but I'm not sure. Either way, I got lucky and I feel bad that you didn't get it. I hope you'll get approved on Netgalley

What's your profile like on there?
Alaina wrote: "Anna 'Bookbuyer' wrote: "It's still on Edelweiss too. I just checked. I like Edelweiss because you can make your case and also re-request."uh, what is this black magic called "re-request"?"
You can keep asking for the same book. I've done it a few times and got a book I was declined for.
Honestly, not very good. I have too many books I didn't review from years ago and I don't have a blog to help my case. I just linked my stats and goodreads profile. I mostly use Netgalley for HarperCollins when they put some of their books available to download.
Alaina wrote: "what the what.. WHERE IS THIS MAGICAL BUTTON?"It's been over a year since I last requested but I remember that I just clicked on the book page. You can't click on the 'declined' and click request? I don't 100% remember. Let me check my Edelweiss group as I think I told someone how to do it on there.
Okay so it does stay in your declined section if you do get approved. I would be carefuly how many times your request and how soon after as I don't know if they get annoyed and will then not approve you later.
This is what one person said' You were correct-when I re-requested it I didn't even bother to put my reasons for wanting it in the box, I just sent in the request and a couple of hours later it was downloadable, but it is still on my declined books list.' on the Edelweiss group
click "review copies" (from top of page)*select "declined copies" (from left hand side bar)
*select layout so only single book is listed per line
*Next to each title of the book should be a large
↖↗
↙↘
symbol.
*Click that, and a pop up screen will open for the book
*The request bottom is in the bottom right hand corner of the pop up screen
***How to re-request.
Very interesting. I just requested like 20 books on there so maybe? It says my profile strength is good, but Idk if that means anything
Alaina wrote: "oh shit, ima about to go ham on these re-requests"lol i can imagine you clicking and clicking
