Here are some books I thought of during what to read discussions last night. Take 'em or leave 'em:

Midnight Riot (Peter Grant, #1) by Ben Aaronovitch -Slightly humorous detective/urban fantasy in London

The Atrocity Archives (Laundry Files, #1) by Charles Stross -Also slightly humorous urban fantasy of a sorts taking place in the UK, with computers and coding and other nerdy touches.

We have mentioned both of the above before as comparisons for Day Watch and The Rook

Some cyber fantasy? The Dragons of Babel by Michael Swanwick

Century Rain by Alastair Reynolds with time travel or House of Suns by Alastair Reynolds with clones for some stand alone Sci-fi from Alastair Reynolds

For some fantasy time travel, there's The Anubis Gates by Tim Powers

Author I haven't read but hear I should:

Mary Robinette Kowal

Books other book clubs read that I missed but still want to read:

Alif the Unseen by G. Willow Wilson

The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison

Well... I don't think we will run out of stuff to read anytime soon... The problem has always been in deciding which direction to go.

Also, I mentioned Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell to at least one side of the table :) TV series is supposed to come out sometime this year. Full trailer was recently released:
