Julie | 26 comments Strong characters along with a story told through diary entries, poems, and a "zine", combine to make this a compelling read. The main character is a 17 year old hispanic girl who is overweight, dealing with a father who is a drug addict, and her two best friends - one is pregnant and one is gay. It is a story about coming to terms with who you are at heart. I loved it. I think my readers of A Fault in My Stars, Eleanor and Park, etc will enjoy this.

Connie Scharre (cscharre) | 25 comments Not a fan. Same story of all the books where the adults "don't understand me".

Sarah Mae (sarahmae) Actually I think her relationships with adults were pretty decent. She had a lot of love and respect for her mom and aunt even when she didn't really understand where they were coming from.
