Jen (at last!) (jenkeith) | 1052 comments We are meant to deduce that Joe is a descendant of Ishmael. :)

Ishmael had the last name, Abernathy, because of his slave owner, who was Geillis' husband in Jamaica. :)

Go, Catherine! Your turn for a question! :)

message 552: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 288 comments Amazing! I got 1 rigfht! YAY!!

message 553: by Jen (at last!) (new)

Jen (at last!) (jenkeith) | 1052 comments Yaaaaaaay! :)

message 554: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 288 comments I need to re-read all of them! I don't know how any of you guys remember any of this stuff!

message 555: by Jen (at last!) (last edited Dec 22, 2011 02:23PM) (new)

Jen (at last!) (jenkeith) | 1052 comments We are starting the re-read in January. You should join us! Don't feel badly. I just have a mind for insignificant details. Also, I've been reading the series since I was 17 in 1994...

I do a read through once a year or so and I still don't remember EVERYTHING. lol

message 556: by Catherine (last edited Dec 22, 2011 02:23PM) (new)

Catherine | 288 comments ok...here goes...when Jamie was at the estate as a groomsman, what happened when the Lord of the manner found out about his daughter's "bad behavior" and what happened to Jamie immediately following?

and what happened to the daughter?

I don't have time to do that every year! lol I have too many other books to read once! and my list is growing geometrically!

message 558: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 288 comments I will certainly try to re-read them again next year with you guys!

message 559: by Jen (at last!) (new)

Jen (at last!) (jenkeith) | 1052 comments Yeah, that's why I say once a year or so...lol. It's usually every two years. :)

My to read list has exploded exponentially, too!

message 560: by Carren (new)

Carren Kay | 953 comments Well, the daughter died right after giving birth. And wasn't Jamie offered his freedom?

message 561: by Catherine (last edited Dec 22, 2011 06:45PM) (new)

Catherine | 288 comments yes....he returned to Lallybroch

your turn Carren

message 562: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 673 comments I don't think Jamie accepted the offer. He was a Helwater until William was at least 5yrs. old.

message 563: by Carol L (new)

Carol L | 218 comments I agree Sue, he did not accept. He left when William was 5 after Jamie saw his reflection in the horse trough and realized how much William looked like him.

message 564: by Carren (new)

Carren Kay | 953 comments I should have added the part where he didn't accept the offer. Sorry.

So, who's turn? It's okay if Sue or Carol gets the next question.

message 565: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 673 comments Carren you got it right. Carol and I were commenting on Catherine saying he went back to Lallybroch. It's your go.

message 566: by Carren (new)

Carren Kay | 953 comments What was the name of the ship that Jamie, Claire, Ian and Rollo embarked on when they started out to Scotland? What were the names of the other ships during that adventure?

message 567: by Teresita (last edited Dec 23, 2011 07:43AM) (new)

Teresita A | 531 comments Good question...I do not recall any of ship names right now.

message 568: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 673 comments All I can the of is the Porpoise. That was the British War ship Claire was on. I'll keep thinking.

message 569: by Catherine (last edited Dec 23, 2011 09:31AM) (new)

Catherine | 288 comments yeah...I know...sorry guys...he did stay for a while at the estate...but he did return to Lallybroch.. :)

message 570: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 288 comments was it the Artemis?

message 571: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 673 comments Well Catherine there is about 7000 pages altogether so every detail does get a bit fuzzy once in a while! :)

message 572: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 288 comments can't think of another besides the Porpoise...but that was in the Caribbean..I think

message 573: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 288 comments the Arianna was the ship in France...

the Artemis is the only other one I can think of...from Scotland

message 574: by Carren (new)

Carren Kay | 953 comments Do you need clues?

message 575: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 288 comments yes please! :)

message 576: by Carren (new)

Carren Kay | 953 comments Echo in the Bone

message 577: by Tina (new)

Tina | 162 comments I know! I know! Can I answer?

message 578: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 288 comments how about the Asp?

message 579: by Carren (new)

Carren Kay | 953 comments Well, that was one of the ships, but not the one that they started on.

message 580: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 288 comments :(

I give up

message 581: by Tina (new)

Tina | 162 comments The Pitt and The Teal?

message 582: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 288 comments I think the Teal was hit by the Asp, and sunk...don't
....but maybe that was later

message 583: by Carren (new)

Carren Kay | 953 comments Tina: Correct, somewhat, as I'm not a real stickler on exactness. "Ish" always works in my world. The first ship was the Tranquil Teal. The other two ships were the Pitt and Asp.
It's someone's turn now. Catherine, Tina??

message 584: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 673 comments Carren that was a tough one! Good job.

message 585: by Catherine (last edited Dec 26, 2011 03:52PM) (new)

Catherine | 288 comments who's turn? I thiknk Tina :)

message 586: by Tina (new)

Tina | 162 comments Arch Bug was killed: where and by whom?

message 587: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 673 comments Ian in Philadelphia?

message 588: by Mary G. (new)

Mary G. (nonometoo) | 319 comments Didn't William kill Arch Bug in Philadelphia? I think he shot him.

message 589: by Mimi (new)

Mimi Smith | 199 comments Mary G. wrote: "Didn't William kill Arch Bug in Philadelphia? I think he shot him."

Yes I think so, too.

message 590: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 673 comments Yeah I'm pretty sure it was William too. When I answered that question I knew William was there but couldn't quite place what happened. But Arch injured Ian. I going to blame that on a senior moment!!! :)

message 591: by Mary G. (last edited Jan 01, 2012 05:57AM) (new)

Mary G. (nonometoo) | 319 comments I can identify with that, believe me! Now for a new question.
Why did Claire not want to marry Jamie in the quaint little church?

message 592: by Mimi (new)

Mimi Smith | 199 comments Because she married Frank there in the future.

message 593: by Gwennie, biblioholic (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 3151 comments Great Mimi! Want to throw another question at us?

message 594: by Mimi (new)

Mimi Smith | 199 comments Sure. Let me think of something.
On which hand did Claire wear Jamie's ring?

message 595: by Tina (new)

Tina | 162 comments Jamie's ring was on her right hand, and Frank's ring was on her left.

message 596: by Tina (new)

Tina | 162 comments next question: What name was on the sign on the print shop when Claire came back and found Jamie?

message 597: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 673 comments Malcome's?

message 598: by Jen (at last!) (new)

Tina | 162 comments Yes, A. Malcolm, Printer

message 600: by Jen (at last!) (new)

Jen (at last!) (jenkeith) | 1052 comments Sue can go with a question since I've gone multiple times. :)
