I've been having a ton of trouble falling asleep lately
there's always something on my mind, stress, friend trouble, crushes, etc. my mind just won't
shut off, and then I keep stressing about how late it's getting and the fact that I should be asleep, so I end up being rly tired in the morning. I don't eat / drink caffeine before bed and I avoid screens. I have a regular bedtime routine but nothing helps (a) any tips on how to relax / fall asleep quicker? ily guys!

Ok good job on no screens

Do it at least 30-45 minutes before bed

Be careful what you are watching. Even in the moment it feels like oh haha a horror movie, your brain still subconsciously processes it at night.

Read before bed. It really helps reset your mind and is proven to help u dream!

Drink lots of water and during the screen break, try listening to calm music. Sleeptube hypnotic relaxation on YouTube is very good for this.

Make sure your sleeping area is not to warm. It’s been scientifically proven that you sleep better in a cooler room with extra blankets to be warm.

Melatonin is a supplement that can help sleep.

Melatonin. You body produces it, it’s natural but you might have a defect from it. Lots of people do and you can buy gummies at the store NO ITS NOT DRUGS ITS COMPLETELY SAFE

Katniss Everdeen | 36 comments Oh girlie I struggled with this so much last year! Really what I’ve noticed is that

1.) Don’t look at the time. (It actually really helped me. If you can’t see how late it is it helps.)
2.) Just breath. (Focus on your breathing and take deep breaths)
3.) This is kinda random, but actually I’d sing a relaxing song in my head and that helped me. (Like one that you love and relaxes you)

Girlie, I really hope this helps you!

Sleepytime tea is good too! It’s just a mix of herbal things like peppermint and chamomile and is very relaxing 😌

Also essential oils work well. You might be congested which could be causing lack of sleep so i would recommend peppermint or spearmint oils, breathe oils (breathe is one thing), and eucalyptus oils. These are all really calming and will help with sleep

Audrey (niceyackerman) | 52 comments If I need to turn my mind off, I will pick a movie I have memorized and try to replay it in my mind. It blocks out other thoughts. There are also bedtime story apps, and people say they always fall asleep before the end.

Lavender oil for calm.

blair ⋆˙꣑ৎ | 1 comments what i do when i can’t sleep is play some sleepy music (i recommend folklore or evermore), and i fall asleep after like 6 songs :) hope it works for u!

what i sometimes do as well is put essential oils on my pillow or in my diffuser, or a light a candle, the whole atmosphere makes it super sleepy

Audrey (niceyackerman) | 52 comments I take a pretty low dose of melatonin -- like 2 mg. Magnesium helps a lot of people. I use it because it's supposed to help prevent headaches, though I can't tell if it's helping with that.
