Trying to find a book I read when I was younger

Hi — I’m trying to ID a YA/teen novel set in high school. The main focus is on a boy and his best friend (a girl). They share a favourite film — Casablanca — and at one point the boy is involved in a fight in the school locker/changing room “over her.” Tone felt like realistic YA/coming-of-age (not fantasy). I’m not sure if it’s a standalone or part of a series. Any suggestions? Even small details (character names, cover colours, publisher) would be so helpful.
