I was unsure about this book as the review were quite split. But I loved this book! I mean you need to give time to build the world. But There was action from the start. There was spice for sure but there was no so much that it overpowered the story. The world they live in is for sure not a good one. There is so much damage and prejudice and it really is a look out for yourself first and foremost place however it is the first book and there is room for so much growth within their society and I feel like Wren and Cross are going to burn down the world and build it back up together. I think Wren is a really strong FMC. I like a story where do hate the FMC just a little bit. Is she an amazing person not really but that was absolutely a product of her upbringing and the current state or society. Do I think she is bad ass hell yeah! Not every FMC or MMC is going to be the perfect person. I can not wait for the next book!

However there were times that I though maybe the author was going to throw in a huge loop and make it be Roe, then there were times i qwuestions it it would be Kaine. However about half way I was pretty sure it would be Cross. I am usual not that good at predicting things like this I usually end up wrong. My predictions for book 2 is that Cross will be found out, but I also think that we are going to find out that the Uprising is not really good guys in this whole thing. I mean everyone is out for themselves really in this dystopian world. But what happened to the General, and I know he was no saint was cruel for sure. (hide spoiler)]
