OMG IM SO HAPPY WE HAVE THIS. he definitely did, and even if he didn’t, he’s a predator anyways bc why are you DATING a 13-15 year old girl, have matching tattoos with her, and writing a song with her name, and still claim you’re innocent?
Although there is no solid evidence to prove he is responsible, there are many things that point toward him being guilty. Such as her body being found in HIS car, although it could have been placed there, it's HIGHLY unlikely. He also wrote a song that had the lyrics "In the back of my mind she died." He was also dating her, and they had matching tattoos, which technically it is illegal for him to date a minor.
Legally he’s innocent till proven guilty. But I say that he did. (Shout out to Rottenmango go watch her videos abt it if you haven’t) And even if he DIDN’T do it, charge him with grooming a minor. He’s just insane bro

@grace EXACTLY. even if he didn’t kill her (which i’m at least 90% sure he did) he DATED a 13-15 year old girl! he groomed and preyed on a TEENAGER, and he needs to at least be held responsible for that.
dude i had no idea about this drama until earlier today T-Ti literally only know about him cuz he did a bunch of stuff with hannah bang, and then today i figured out he was a horrible person. (she unfollowed him tho so)
yeah they found a body in his tesla but yk people didn’t think he was guilty since he was on tour and had been on tour for a while. but apparently the girl (15 at the time of her death and reported missing since she was like 13/15) and him had matching tattoos (THATS NOT NORMAL) that literally said ‘shhh’, d4vd had an unreleased song with her name, and her mom said her boyfriends name was david (his irl name) there’s literally no way he’s not guilty of SOMETHING.

People keep saying “15” “Fifteen” HER BODY WAS FOUND WHEN SHE WOULD’VE BEEN FIFTEEN. SHE NEVER MADE IT TO FIFTEEN. SHE WAS A CHILD. NOT A TEENAGER OR A YOUNG LADY. A CHILD.
Sorry this was aggressive but I hate. Hate. That people are saying that she is older than she was. And blaming her and saying she should’ve known better…. Y’ALL WATCH ROTTEN MANGO TRUST 🙏
yesss!!! the news outlets keep saying ‘young lady’ or ‘young woman’ but she was a TEEN, 14 years old, when she was killed. she couldn’t even drive yet, that’s a CHILD that was dating a grown man.
okay i have a lot of strong opinions on this but i don't really have the time to type much out rn, but one point i've been seeing a lot lately is "well if he was guilty, he would've been arrested already!"that's not necessarily true for a couple of reasons, on being that law enforcement is literally getting new information on this case every single day. they have HUNDREDS of pages of evidence to comb through (and that's not an exaggeration) so it's going to take a while. especially when the person that's being accused is in the public eye like this
also, authorities are still trying to determine whether this should be a state case or a federal one. typically homicide cases like this one would be state, but there are actually pictures of a girl who looks like Celeste at a D4vd concert in Maryland (she lived in California) and if that's the case then he could potentially be charged with sex trafficking of a minor, in addition to his other charges. that would make it a federal case, but authorities need solid evidence before they press charges.
a lot of the "evidence" you see online about this case are actually just assumptions, but there are just too many coincidences to ignore imo
allegedly there is another 'celeste', who reportedly spoke with d4vd online, her name is celeste herrera and she is 23 years old, and filipino, some people say she has an uncanny resemblence to celeste rivas but i personally don't see itas for celeste rivas, i think she was reported missing when she was 13 years old, in 2024
i don't know very much on this case and i'll try to do more research, but i believe the leading theory is that celeste (hernandez) overdosed on drugs and died, and d4vd (maybe w/ team?) panickes and hid her body (although that doesn't explain the dismemberment or mutiliation of the body) which is why he's been dismissed as a potential killersome people also believe that the then 13 year old may have lied to d4vd, saying she was 19, although i find that difficult believe, even if she had lied at the beginning, if they had a longer relation, it would have come out
while matching tattoos may hint to a connection, it's important to remember that many fans get 'matching' tattoos with celebrities never having spoken to them
and i don't believe that romantic homicide is about her, since that song was released in 2022, and she was reported missing in 2024, but i think there's a line in one of his songs that says something like "i don't care how long it takes, i'll wait", but i don't listen to his music so i don't know the context, but it could be referring to her age

I don’t think this is an appropriate topic for discussion, as it involves an active case with real people affected. While I understand it has gained widespread attention and is considered high-profile, it doesn’t feel right to discuss it casually. This isn’t to suggest anyone has been or would be disrespectful, but on moral grounds alone, I don’t believe it belongs in a debate club setting.

Where I understand where you’re coming from… all of our debates are mainly things that affect real people. Things that are happening now. Climate change is happening and affecting people, presidency, the Adrianna Smith case happened and affected people and while it’s over it’s still real. I think the reason this is being debated isn’t just about Celeste, but the way the investigation is being conducted. We have large issues with the police system currently, and that can affect everyone.
I’m not saying you’re wrong but it can be important to see opinions on these types of things, and make sure everyone is informed.

!! WARNING FOR LONG MESSAGE: I TYPED THIS ON A DOC BECAUSE I WANTED TO RANT ABOUT THE TOPIC !!D4vd released a song titled “Romantic Homicide” with the lyric: “I killed you and I didn’t even regret it.” This isn’t metaphorical heartbreak—it’s a direct statement of murder without remorse. The fact that this lyric was publicly released and widely consumed without raising alarm is deeply concerning. Fans embraced the song as emotional or aesthetic, not as a potential red flag. The normalization of violent language in pop music allowed this line to pass without scrutiny, even though it now reads as disturbingly literal in hindsight.
Even before Celeste's death was confirmed, there were photos circulating of D4vd cleaning her shoes—reportedly posted to her Instagram. While the exact date is unclear, it’s believed this occurred before D4vd’s rise to fame. The images suggest that this wasn't just a one time thing.
What makes this especially troubling is Celeste’s age at the time. She was likely between 13 and 15. This wasn’t a public relationship between consenting adults. It was a dynamic between a rising artist; a grown adult, and a minor, documented and shared online, yet many hadn't addressed it until Celeste had died.
Multiple users have reported being banned from D4vd’s Discord server simply for mentioning Celeste Hernandez' by name. This suggests active suppression of discussion around her, even before her death was confirmed. The bans weren’t limited to harassment or rumor-spreading. Users claim that even neutral questions or references triggered immediate removal. This raises serious concerns about what the community knew and how far moderators went to protect D4vd’s image.
Also, there are unconfirmed rumors that Celeste may have been pregnant at the time of her death. While no official autopsy report has verified this, the speculation has circulated widely in fan spaces and online forums. If true, this would deepen the severity of the situation—especially given Celeste’s age and the power imbalance in her relationship with D4vd. It also raises questions about medical access, parental awareness, and potential coercion.
Celeste reportedly used multiple fake IDs and social media profiles to present herself as 18 or 19, including claiming to be a USC student. This deception allowed her to enter adult spaces, live with D4vd, and participate in livestreams without immediate suspicion. However, faking her age doesn’t absolve the adults around her—especially those in positions of power—from responsibility. The burden of due diligence falls on the older party, particularly when the minor is visibly underage and surrounded by peers who knew the truth.
okay so two things i want to point out is that Celeste was likely 13, as it was the day after what would have been her 15th birthday when she was found, and she's been missing since she was 13 (spring of 2024)and secondly, d4vd released his song romantic homicide over a year before she was even reported missing, in 2022, so it is not related to her death because she was well and alive at the time

While I understand it has gained widespread attent..."I completely understand your point, and I agree that debates here often involve real issues and people. The difference, at least to me, is that this particular case is still ongoing , it’s sensitive, and the facts are still unfolding. Discussing it now might unintentionally spread misinformation or cross personal boundaries for those involved. I completely support talking about larger systemic issues (you mentioned climate change) like how investigations are handled or flaws in policing, but I just think framing it around an active case with identifiable individuals makes it ethically complicated. Maybe we could still have the discussion, just in a way that focuses on the investigative process or justice system as a whole rather than this specific case?

I like that, what if we rephrased this debate, so people can still talk about them, but the focus is more of whether the police and investigators are doing everything they should be? Any suggestions on what to change the title?

Vindhya, thank you for sharing your concerns. Should I change the title to "D4vd and the Murder of Celeste Hernandez" so we can simply discuss the situation instead of debating someone's guilt or innocence?

I think the latter works, though Celeste’s case will most likely be brought up. Barnette what do you think?

i think that honestly with makeup ive seen plenty of girls look older, but yes i do believe that it's not something that could've lasted a secret, and he definitely would have found out
d4vd definitely killed her
there is too much evidence
and even if he didn't, their relationship was beyond problematic. celeste was literally my age. and d4vd was an adult. they should not have been dating.
